our engine type- J30, right?

so i bought a new alternator today on ebay. 180 A, should be pretty cool, spent 199 on it. anyways, i need to know the engine code for a 97 3.0 its the J30, correct? not the J30A1 or J30A2 or anything like that? thanks. gonna get my yellow top soon too.
