OMG! Injen CAI filter is HUGE!!!
I just got my CAI in the mail today. I tried to install it myself, but I don't have any metric sized tools, so I couldn't get the goddamn intake tube detached from teh silencer box in teh fender well. I'm going in to my loca shop tomorrow, and installing it there. I'll be working on it to, so It's not like I'm totally copping out, but it'll just be easier this way.
When I opened the box and saw the filter, I thougth GODDAMN!!!! That thing is HUGE!!! It's gonna look PIMP once it's installed. Here are some pics I just took of it.
and here's one of the setup. I decided to go with black instead of polished since it would go with the rest of the plastic under the hood.
whataya think?

I WOULD take a vid of teh engine, but I don't have any form of video taking aparatus except for my video card, but that does me no good without a camera . Ahhh well... I'll probably record a sound clip or somehting along those lines eventually.
Speaking of fucked up trannys, did you get a tranny cooler for your car? I jsut ordered one about 2 days ago, adn plan on installing it ASAP. According to dustbuster4, his 3.0 has had no tranny problems since his install of the tranny cooler. I figured it would be a great investment if that's the case.

yeah, I'm sure the V2 is better for gains and all, but this one looks pimp, and probably gets 2 less HP than the V2, so I think the trade off is fine. Not to mention it's probably gonna sound sweet anywyas.

OMG! this thing sounds so AWESOME. The car sounds like a damn muscle car now. Luckily it's only during WOT, so I'm not gonna atreact any unwanted attention from normal driving.

Yep cocoa, sounds like me right about now. I've gotta get rid of my lead foot because with these gas prices I can't afford to be getting 15 mpg again. I think it's sweet how if I gun it, then take my foot completely off the gas, the air going into the intake sounds like a really quiet BOV. Pretty sweet. this thing turns head like no other now .
On another note. what was all the talk about moving an air sensor, and crimping wires or something? is that nly in the 2.2/2.3 models as everything fit perfecty in this installation.
now I just gotta get an exhaust and headers to finish off the sound .
