Hey a colleague of mine has got to be 55-60 years old. Just bought a flaming red WRX STI-Turbo...

 

but when the old people are going slow and arent fun (ie mainly old women) then where is the fun in that?


and everyone knows if you buy an STi, it has to be rally blue w/gold rims!

 

OK, us old folks are disappointing I know, especially the old ladies driving CLs, but remember most of the 1st gen CLs were sold new to folks that could afford them (at the time they weren't real cheap) and that was the targeted group for the car in the first place. And a lot of them still own them a testament to how good a car it has been.

Let me know when and we'll go find a nice safe place to race (been racing off on on for 30 YEARS!!!!!!) ((how old are you again.....)

 

A grandma seriously tried to race me at a stop light. Were the only cars on the road. I look over to my right and I see grandma eyeing me out inside her Ford Taurus. My windows were down and I yelled out to her "what the problem is?". Grandma then began to rev her engine rapidly. When the light turned green she peeled out through the intersection. At the same time I was thinking to myself that there is no way in hell that I'm going to get spanked by Grandma. So, I decided to race her. She already had a 4 car leap ahead of me. I caught up to Grandma fairly quickly and pulled ahead of her. I gave her the hazzards and shut down the race at 70 mph. Grandma met up with me at the next light and showed me the bird and dug out. That was absurd!

in my area there are like 9 Cls(if that) and about 6 of them are old ladies, never old guys and the other 3 are some young chick ( mid 20s) and some 2 other guys, mid 20s too....

all of them are 3.0s too except for the girl, she has a 2.2

There is a mixture in my area of people with CLs...They are either chicks are little high school kids. More 20 something guys have the 2nd generation.

 

It's kinda nice tho , all the rice kids look at 3.0 and check it hard. If everyone had one it wouldn't be as much fun! I've only seen one 1rst gen CL mod'd here and I was real late to work and couldn't really look, it's always some BLUE HAIR..

 

I messed with an old fart in a Civic once because he cut me off , gave me the finger and then slowed to a crawl in front of me. I got him at the next light, cursed him out and smoked him once it turned green.

 

Im 20 with a 1st gen so ur not the only 1...so if u ever see a shaved champaigne CL in the tristate area w/magnaflow thas me

 

I'm the only moded 1st gen I've seen around here, but the ricer kids LOVE the 3.0. You can almost hear them going "OOOOOO it's a v6."

 

The Mistress smokes grandpa's tobaco and eats grandma's cookies. I like being middle-aged. You have plenty of insight and lots of energy. And FUCK an SHO FORD. She'll smoke that turd box too. And yes, I work on a campus, and I see the rice and the nice eying my CL 3.0. That fucking rules.

And when I break out the used NSX next spring cause my CL has been paid and I'm PAID they can go ooooo it's a real sports car , that's ok Civics with and ground effects are really cool .

I agree...theres always old people driving them around here...until I get mine this summer

Now that I think about it...I've only seen one relativley young person in a CL around here(not that I search and do a backround check for everyone I see or do I remember everyone I've seen but this one was particularly special becuase it was just like my dads at the time(I guess he could be considered old)but yea, most of the ones I've seen have been old folks.

The car was aimed at 45 year old men who want not a sports car but something that's a bit like it, with luxury. Most young people were buying the Integra at the time.

Aside from the car itself, I ignore the 60-70% of the posts in here which talk about aftermarket add-ons.. because it's mostly 20 year old people who live at home and don't have any bills, who can justify spending money on this stuff. I have a mortgage.. priorities change with age. Tough to justify spending money fixing things which are not broken, replaced with parts that the car was not designed for and make it less reliable.

One thing I did notice when I got the CL, was Integras and Civics were $600 a year more to insure.

I dunno about that, the insurance rates on my CL were through the roof. They were higher than the 2nd gen MR2 I was looking at when I was car shopping. Considering I'm 19, have no accidents or tickets on my record, and have always been an insured driver, I was paying $250 for the first 3 months and am paying $218 now

 

i dont see any old people in CLs im my town. of course ive only seen 4 other than mine. a 20's chick drives one thats silver with clear corners and grilles like mine. then theres a white one with a WW lip, tint, and nothing else that a 17 yr old girl drives. and theres a black one with nothing done to it at all that is driven by a 20's guy. and last but not least a red one with rims, drop, 10% tint, clear corners, exhaust, intake, and WW lip thats driven by a fatass mexican guy. the car almost touches the ground when he gets in. its funny as hell. his name is hector alvarez and he owns two mexican restaurants and possible sells coke. he has 2 expiditions sittin on 24s both slammed. then theres the blue caprice with 22" spinners, also slammed. and then theres the old six-fo impala on 13" gold wires green candy paint and lets not forget the hydrolics.

Q: homie has all these badass cars but why does he have a first gen CL.
