Oil leak. Can anyone help?

I just went to go check the mail and when I parked my car I noticed a stream of oil from the path that my car had taken. I looked underneath my car to see if it was coming from my oil filter or plug but it seemed to be close to where my belts are. At this point the leak wasn't really activated. So, I turned on my motor to see if i could see it better and i got a heavy flow of oil pouring out what looked to be near the oil pan. Would this be the seal or could it be something else? If anyone has any input I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your time.

Check the easy things first, oil filter could be crossthreaded, or the the drain plug could be stripped, or the oil pan hole could be cracked, check those first before deciding it's the pan, those are cheaper fixes than the pan

if you havent done any recent work then your oil pan seal is probably bad. either that or you hit something to make a hole in it. if you had service such as change your oil recently then i would check the oil filter. maybe its not tightened. only a retard would crossthread the filter. goodluck

It could also be an ejected balance shaft seal. There is a TSB to install a retainer on this to prevent massive oil loss. Don't drive w/ a large leak!

good luck
