OEM Remote LED is lit all the time

97 3.0 CL
Been having problems with keyless entry intermittently.

Well today, I try to unlock the car and nothing happens. Noticed that the led light on my remote is on even though I'm not pushing a button. Made sure that each button clicked when pushed and was not stuck. Eventually battery was wearing out and to rule out the battery, I bought a new one and the light stays lit 24/7. This is my second remote this happened to since I've owned the car since 00'

Does anyone know what it means when the led light is lit all the time??
My second issue is something is wrong with my driver side door because when I used the key to unlock the driver's door, it triggers the alarm. However, when I unlock the passenger door with my key, it disarms the alarm.
Since my remote does not work, I lock the car from inside the car and close all the doors and it alarm arms it self automatically.
This means that I have to walk over to the passenger door all the time to disarm the alarm then walk around to the driver side to drive.

:ther things I noticed. You guys already probably know but wanted to share.
-Alarm is turns off automatically after 2 mins.
-Engine does not start while alarm is blaring
-Hood latch is disabled while alarm is blaring

Oh, one more question.

How do I disable the alarm because if I can't get this working right away, I will just use my keys to unlock the car.

just open your remote using a screw driver or something.
see what the problem is in there. inside..no complicated..easily fabricated...mean..
You cann't mess it up. try to find what makes the led lit 24/7
Just open it...

BTW, just diable the sound by pressing both trunk button and lock or unlock button at the same time ( first press trunk button and then press lock or unlock button..
until the led will lit.

I did this with the first remote that went bad... you're right is a simple circuit board and I couldn't find anything wrong with it.

Thanks for the suggestion but this isn't related to my problem. I wish it was simple that.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you gotta buy a new one. Same shit happened to me when it was raining outside and the remote got a little wet. You can get one at the stealership or off eBay. Make sure you get one with the same FCC code (or some kinda code, it's on the back of the remote) on it if you're gettin it on eBay.

Thanks. I will have to look around before going to the dealership.

Does anyone know how to disable the alarm all together?
I can pull the fuse but this will cause the engine to not start right?

Just get a new one off ebay, and your car alarm is supposed to go off when armed

sorry to hi jack, this may be a really dumb question but I'm gonna ask it anyway.

Did everyone's CL come with an alarm????

When I bought my car, a remote never came with it so I've been using my key to get in, so I always assumed that there was no alarm on the car. But the other day I locked my door from the inside (while sitting in there) n when I unlocked it to get out an alarm went off.

Hah SOOOOO I guess I DO have an alarm! yay!? Now I just needa get a key fob, 40 bucks from acura.

OK, this off the subject, but what did this mean?

What, will doing this make the horn honk turn on and off? I like the fact that my alarm flashes the lights instead of honking the horn when I arm or disarm it. But I always wondered if that was a setting, it says nothing about this in the owner's manual.

Thanks.

and yes, you have a damaged switch in your remote. It may click, but one of the switches is stuck open internally. It is most likely the LOCK button, being it is the largest and most likely to get hit while in your poket.
