OBD II Trouble Code

I had a question that maybe one of you guys can help me with. I have a 97 cl 3.0 with 80K miles, and my check engine light come on a few weeks ago so I got a scanner tool to help me find out why it came on. Well I checked it today and it gave me, "Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected." What does that mean? Is there something wrong with the catalytic converter? I was hoping someone here is a mechanic and can guide me to how to fix this problem. Thanks.

If you're under 80k, take it to the dealer for a repair under the extended emissions warranty that covers the EGR port clogging. I just had it done to my '98 3.0CL. If it's over 80k (but close), you may be able to call Acura's 800 number and get 'goodwill' assistance to still get it covered under warranty.

Good luck

the EGR is covered under the extended warrenty, get your vin number from the front driver side near the windshield and give it to acura service dept. and make sure you qualify for the EGR but most are covered till 150k

it will take about 3.5 hours to do the job

hope this could help
