Question O2 sensor?

My check engine light came on and the mechanic came up with 3 different codes, one was the gas tank wasn't closed all the way or it could be a hose to some sensor disconnected, and the other 2 were o2 sensors. How many o2 sensors does a 99 acura 3.0 cl have. And if there is more than 1, can a mechanic figure out which one is bad so i don't start changing sensors for nothing. Also, how much do 02 sensors go for. Any info. would be a great help.

You have two o2 sensors. Usually referred to as bank 1 and bank 2, or pre cat and post cat, or primary and secondary...all the same shit.

Anyways, you have 2 oxygen sensors, and depending on where you go, you can pick them up for $35-$125. I know the range is huge, but it does make a difference which sensor it is, where you get it from, and what car it's for. Unfortunately, I don't have the pricing in my head. Just know the ranges from when I use to work at the shop.

There are troubleshooting steps that you or your mechanic can take to verify which (if any) sensor needs to be replaced. All of the O2 sensor codes are either complaining about continuity (or lack of) or resistance between the ECM/PCM to O2 sensor and back. So trouble shooting involves verify whether it's the wire (between ecm/pcm and sensor) or the senor that's the culprit. Usually it's the sensor.

Here are some prices I found online for the OEM ones. Non-OEM should be vastly cheaper, in the range Cocoa was saying.

Part Number.....Description...........List.....Sale
36531-P8A-A01...SENSOR 2, OXYGEN......255.43...203.33
36532-P8A-A01...SENSOR, RR. OXYGEN....255.43...203.33

yup the major brands i see are Bosch and Denso. im pretty sure we might run Denso from the factory, but more than likely were gonna be running NGK........... denso is a good brand with a wide range of OEM japanese car stuff under their belt.. sure I think theyre owned by Toyota, but that doesnt really matter too much...... a good plug and play kit for those will run you around a good 120-150 a piece though
