Nother GB!Body kit this time!
OK I guess I am on a roll here. I know I know everyone is like "everyone says they are gonna do something for our car and never does" and that is true. BUT IS BECAUSE WE ARE A BUNCH OF PUSSIES! Veilside says "Fortune Favors the brave" but i say "Furtune shits on those who say I wish we could have, and never do" Thats why I have worked my ass off literaly HARRASING companies until they actually do so here is an offer from extreme dimensions, the first company to market a kit for our 2nd gen:
"Aaron,
We are delighted at your interest with our company. If you can put
together a groupbuy of a minimum of 10 complete kits, we will make that
kit of your choice for that car. If you have further questions feel
free to contact me at anytime. Thank you.

But they also told me previously that they were currently MAKING a kit so I dunno, open for discussion, what do you guys think?

Did they say a price on the kits? Are they any cheaper than the website with a groupbuy? If so I may be interested in either the WW touring or the WW big mouth.

well I'm interested...The front lip is kind of boring...Also, he obviously wont make everyone their own body kits so DON'T be to picky...But sure, I'll give it a try and see what comes of it...

Yeah you will prob not get the 10 people, or they will back out at the end. Sorry to tell you that, but since i joined, i have seen about 4 of these threads come and go. I am not interested in a kit for my CL anyway though.

I think the ED Type Big M Complete Kit would look good on our cars ... Anyways i know other companies have said they would help us out and didn't but i really dont think we pushed hard enough ... I say we get the 10 or more ppl and see what happens ... BTW will it be the same cost as on the site?

WARNING WARNING WARNING!
when you get this kit from extreme dimensions plan on spending a month trying to get the piece of shit to fit on the car, then plan on spending another $600 for a body shop to modify the crap out of it to get it fit, then spend another week sanding out the waves so it doesnt look like an ocean.
EXTREME DIMENSIONS SUCKS! THERE IS A REASON THEIR KITS ARE $500. HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY THIS TO PEOPLE! THIS BUSINESS IS NO DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER BUSINESS, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
extreme dimensions horror story #1: a body shop manager came to me with an e.d. kit for an accord and asked if it was even the right kit for the car because it wasnt fitting. A BODY SHOP MANAGER PEOPLE! think about that. btw, it was the right kit.
extreme dimensions horror story #2: about 3 weeks ago a guy brought down a blitz kit for an eclipse, asked me to put it on. i spend about 4 hours trying to get the rear bumper to fit, was about 8 inches off on one side when the other side was mounted. the rear rebar had to come out to even get to this point, and when i tried to squeeze it on the reverse lights popped out cuz they were hitting the rear trunk wall. I spent almost 2 hours cutting 1 sideskirt to fit and it still didnt fit. the cheap bastard wanted a kit for $500, we told him the same deal, so he went elsewhere to get it, came back for the install... now he has spent $500 on a useless kit, $200 to me for spending almost 2 days on his car, and he has nothing to show for it.
TRUST ME I KNOW WAY TOO MUCH SHIT ABOUT BODY KITS, I CAN TELL YOU WHO FITS, WHO NEEDS A LITTLE BENDING, AND WHO IS GARBAGE, AND EXTREME DIMENSIONS IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL. just some neighborly advice.... and for future reference, nobody will ever make a kit for the cl, ok?! this is the biggest forum in the world for it and people on this board want everything for nothing. you'll never get 10 people on here that agree on 1 kit and will shell out the money, the ones with the hooked up cl's spend the money.

Ok ross how bout you? Personally, i dont feel like spending 2 grand for my own body kit and I don't care if other people have the same kit as me. I will spend $800-1000 for a quality kit, so how bout it? What would it take for you to make 10 kits for our car?

Honestly, I don't have as much experience as ross w/ body kits, but I have enough. For a good fitting custom kit, even w/ 10 being made you are going to be paying close to 1500$. You can't even get a good quality kit from a company that mass produces them for 800-1000. When painting and fitting is all said and done, you are going to be looking at atleast 2k - 2500.

im only going to say it once, people on here are too cheap. not trying to be a dick, but its true, they'd rather spend $400+ on bright headlights. im not even going to try anymore. if you want a body kit for your cl it is going to be 1 of about 5 in the world, so you are going to pay for it.
finally, do you guys think $2500-$3500 is a rip off? does anyone understand how much work is involved? weeks! its not as simple as molding them together, you can spend 2 good days measuring things up when you build the kit. everything has to be exact, if it is off 1/2 inch you notice it on the car, and that price includes the aftermarket kit and everything put back into primer.

yes i can easily tell people are cheap asses on this board so instead of bitching about it, find a solution. Instead of making a whole bodykit at once, order one part at a time,
1. group buy for front bumper and air dam
2. group buy for skirts
3. group buy for rear valence
4. group buy for spoiler(optional)
perhaps buy splitting up the cost like this, you wont have to wait as long and people can scrounge up money much faster since I believe that 75% of people on this board live paycheck to paycheck

I dont care...I'm willing to spend up to 2 grand on a body kit and I don't care if 10 or 10,000 people have the same...If I can't get a body kit for that much then I'm shit out of luck and not going to get one...I wanted one from the start and maybe if Ross lived closer then that I would jump on his deal even though it's pricy as hell...I know that I wouldn't be able to get anything for cheaper so I'm not going to whine to him about the price...Just ask the price, see what can be made for what and take it or dont...
I do like the splitting it up idea because I can live with just having the front done or having a custom back piece with a front lip and mesh grill...Just my thoughts...

the problem w/ splitting it up is the car will look real funny. Have you seen a car w/ a front kit and nothing else? It looks funny as all hell.

yeah but by splitting it up, I just meant we can all buy the stuff one piece at a time since we all seem to be constrained by cashflow. my idea was to buy all the pieces one by one, then put it all on at once!
