Noob question (speakers)
Noob question (speakers)
I just got a '97 CL for my first car. All of the audip equiptment is stock. For about the first week i had the car i listened to the music at nearly full volume with the bass up to 5. My friends told me that sooner or later this would cause the speakers to blow out. I have since turned the bass down to around 2 or 3 and don't play the music as loud. Even still, sometimes in certain songs i hear a rattling sound (usually in the speakers in the doors.) Does this mean that i did permenant damage to the speakers in that first week? Also, what is a safe volume and bass level to play music at to keep the speakers damaged (or damaged worse) Thanks for any help in advance
My car has Kenwood head unit and stock speaker, i always set the bass to max and volume to loud... nothing seems wrong. Our car has Bose audio components, they are pretty good (for stock). The rattling might be caused by some loose screws in the door or plastic pieces in the glove box. Check it out.
Oh, welcome to AZ - 1GCL! Is yours a 3.0?

the amp is designed to not blow them, you need retarded amounts of bass to come close to blowing them though i did blow one on my stock speaker eventually, blew the rest once i powered em by the head unit
