noob guide feedback- SUGGESTIONS PLEASE
#42
chips and smokes, lets go
ok here are a few:
1. I think the title of the thread may be a reason why many new members are not reading it. Although the title of the thread includes "read first before posting", you are assuming that new members understand what the term "noob" means. If someone who is unfamiliar with internet forums comes on here to get some info, they may not realize that most of their questions can be answered in that particular thread because they may not understand the title. I would suggest changing the title to something a little more obvious for new members. ie: "FAQ" or "Everything you wanted to know about your CL", etc.
2. When i look at the noob guide, it looks like an unedited paper. I know that it was put together by a few different members, and it shows. I feel that it could be improved if one person went over it and edited it. Maybe i'm just being picky but i think that it could be greatly improved in that area.
3. I think special focus should be put on the most common questions people have. Emphasis should be put on I/H/E. These seem to be the most common and sought after mods so explicitly stating what fits/works would save a lot of the "will this intake fit my CL" threads.
4. I think that suggesting specific brands of products that members are currently using would also be beneficial. Besides letting the new members know what parts fit our cars, giving them some insight as to what specific brands are commonly used would be helpful, especially to someone who is completely new to the scene.
i think thats it. hope it helps.

More of a question...it says that an intake for either the f22 or f23 cl should come from 5th gen f22 accords...shouldn't you just get the intake for the respective motor(f23 from 98-02 f23's)

Another thing you should add are links to the threads people are always talking about. The DIYs for stuff like cleaning your iac valve and whatnot, I know if someone searched they can find it, but no reason to not just have the links in w/ the guide.

One major issue i have with the guide is the section about check engine lights and the odbII plug. The pins it indicates to short have (atleast in my 98 2.3) absolutely no wires attached to them. instead, i short the blue service connector that is located under the glove box.

Or clean it up a little. the forum seems very disorganized and has lots of threads that aren't very useful. It seems like a lot of the DIYs have "DIY" listed in front of them, that was a great idea and helped people find things a lot better.

But I guess what I am getting at is is everything else the same for the 2.2L as the 2.3? I know horsepower will be different, but like is the suspension, stereo specs, window motor specs, etc. the same?

Yes everything else is the same, speakers, windows, suspension, everything except the motor, tranny, ecu, and immobilizer, 97's don't have them.
