Nitrous Dillema

I have the NX EFI kit, and the nitrous activation sensor is an Actual switch that is triggered and sends a relay when the throttle is fully opened. Do you think its worth $55+ to buy the ZEX TPS switch (throttle position sensor) that plugs into my ECU?

don't know much abot the zex unit, but you can't ever have enough safety w/ a nitrous setup.

The Zex set-up doesn't plug into the ECU. You tap it into your engine's TPS wires on the throttle body. It's pretty easy to accomplish.

OK here is my last and final thing: Is it really worth installing nitrous? All that I have heard is "It'll Ruin your engine, all it does is tear it down!"
But since I am only gonna use it at the track is that really gonna kill me?
Also, I heard the largest problem is running to lean or to rich, besides watching a gauge, is there a safety switch/ shut off that will stop the bottle from spraying? And Tranny Cooler? Is that neccesary as well? I just dont want to blow my engine!

O yeah :
-Where is our fuel line? Or is there just that extra port that I can tap into ( Factory "Fuel Test Port")
- When they say dont run the N20 Line near a hot wire because of sparks, is ok next to my 4 gauge power wire for my amp?

Thanks for the help! Just dont want to ruin my baby!

Here's where I tapped into my fuel supply line:

Any forced induction system is going to add considerable "wear and tear" to an engine that was not originally designed for it. If you are only using the nitrous at the track, there should be no noticeable wear to your engine (however, N2O is addictive and you may be tempted to spray on the street).

There is no safety shut off system with the Zex kit. It's really hard to run too rich and I don't even worry about it.

I recommend a tranny cooler, even if there are NO mods on a car. The tranny cooler will extend the life of your transmission (which more than pays for the cost of installing one).

I have my nitrous line running right beside my hot wire for my amp.

okay, first off a tranny cooler is an absolute MUST! You should have one no matter if you are running nitrous or not.

2nd, as long as you use it properly nitrous is 100% safe.

I wouldn't say considerable wear, it's actually pretty minimal w/ the n2o compared to the other 2 FI's

OK maybe I am just a little bit paranoid, but today i was talking to this guy at Tire Rack Where we autocross and he was telling me that a spark somehow ignited his friends nitrous (maybe a leak) and blew up his car and he burned to death. Is this true? Is nitrous really that powerful? I dunno I Would think it is a freak accident I Dunno?

Nitrous CANNOT burn on it's own. However, it can sure intensify a gas fire that is already burning.

I guess, "never say never", but I doubt what he told you is true.
