Question Next Car

Hey guys, I want some opinions from some fellow 1st gen CLers'. I've loved my CL since I picked it up 3 years ago, but I think it's time for change. My only complaint about the CL would be the size. I'm a big guy, and so are my friends, and I've found that if we take my car, 3 is a tight squeeze. More legroom is a must. So the next car will have to be a sedan or a coupe SO fun that I don't care if I can only take 1 passenger. I'd love to hear what you guys have heard/experienced/think about my options so far....

If you like your Acura's get the RL or MDX... much larger. Besides, an RL is certainly not for sport, that is a pure magic caret ride, especially the A-Spec. And leg room, you can't beat the MDX with a stick.

hmm, RL, good idea. I just haven't found any for sale around here.
The Dynamic is just the trim level - no navi, titanium trim, bla, bla, bla

MDX - not a big fan. I don't think I'll ever rock an SUV.

I voted for the G35 coupe because it's the car that I would take out of that list. If you are really concerned about the leg room then I would say go for the TL. I think the new Mustang GT would be a beast to add to your list of selections, but once again it lacks the leg room.

LOL Nice car man, but your thread kinda went to shit.
I testdrove a 05 G coupe and loved it, but I'm going to be shopping in the '03 price range. I've heard the 03 interior is a little "lacking" What do you think? How many miles on yours? Still feel solid?

I don't get it if you are complaining about space in the CL why go to a smaller G35 Coupe?? If you want size and some power go with the Subaru. Plenty of space and definately more power than a 1st Gen, but I'll stick smoke VXCL if I see him on RT. 78 in his Subaru GT

An EVO VIII is legal in California... but not Canada? I thought u guyz had less strict regulations, n thats why u get cars like Civic SiR's?!?

"Blame Canada"-south park

Back on topic, if ur looking for a great car with room get a 2000 BMW 540i , luxury, power n size that a japanese car might not be able to deliver.

It's not that I don't fit in the seat with it moved all the way back, it's just that the backseat starts to look usless. And in my books, a car with a usless backseat has to have at least 250hp, and be RWD.

LOL We can get away with chopping off our catalytic converters, but the EVO's intercooler size makes the bumper or re-bar design "unsafe" in the eyes of the Can. gov't.

Yeah, I had a good laugh in that thread.
Thanks for the link, I was looking for a G35 board. I'll let Dad know about it too. I'm still trying to talk him into supercharging his Sedan instead of trading up to the new M45.

The Civic SIR is just a Civic SI here. They don't any better cars than we do, just the names sound like it's better, but it's really not. They Also get Accord EX-R's but it's really just an EX or SE. They also get Electron Blue Pearl for all 6th Gen Civic's and not just the SIR. One car they do get is the Acura Something...Domani in Japan....forgot the name.

What kind of car does he drive? The M45 is really nice. It beat out the RL, GS430, E350, A6, 530i, Jaguar S-Type, and STS,

Timez is changed.
They also have that acura badged 4door civic the EL. maybe thats wat ur reffering to. OKay i fuked up the thread.

He has a G35 sedan. The M45 sport is $72,000 CAD, and Stillen blower is $6500 + install. I think he'll be better off with the blown+intercooled G35 with intake, exhaust, headers, and some Alpine Navi. and he'll still be $25000 ahead of the game.
Cool comparo, thanks.

But you leave in Canada a RWD car that you can only drive really during the warmer months seems useless..During the past winter I have seen numerous G35 stuck on the side of the road because of the snow..

(it's just a civic with Acura badges and leather)

Man, snow doesn't even bother me. I've gone through winters with a 80 Olds, an 82 Regal, 86 AE86, 86 Accord, 94 Chev 4x4, 93 Laser AWD, and the CL. I almost prefer RWD in the snow. Snow tires and experience makes a RWD fun.

It also depends on what 5 series you get because some of them even a TL-S or CL-S can take them..

I dunno, haven't really seen any that turns my crank. Or maybe i've already subconsciously ruled out all FWD coupes? I'm really feelin' the big sedans. I set-up a testdrive for a 02 A6 (4.2 V8) tomorrow, i can't wait.
I'm loving the 540s too, but there isn't a very good selection around here.
