Newest Gauge setup complete
Ok:
Newest Gauge Setup
First pic:
Shows where the 6" Blacklight bar is placed.
-Was secured with 3M Double sided Heavy Duty Tape
-Had to cut out a few things to make it fit, nothing big
Second pic:
Shows where I mounted the "igniting" piece for the UV blacklight.
-I re-mounted it to the top, cuz there was a big piece of plastic inside that didn't allow me to fit it there, so I put it on top, where the white meets the black on the connection point.
-Used 3M Double Sided tape again
Third Pic:
Shows the lighting of the needles/gauges with the blue bulbs. Looks a lot better in real life, mainly because I use an old Sony digicam that is 1.2 megapixels
Fourth Pic:
Same thing as the third, just tried to go further back, and zoom in more.
The setup took about 1 hr to do, not too bad. And I have all LED's, and that blacklight bar which will last a very long time. I never have to worry about the light dying on me!
Just htought I'd share. Time to take pics of all the other things I have in my car!

I replaced my guage bulbs to blue too, its just as bright as stock, in the pics you just cant tell. Also, im guessing DanMan left the two bulbs at the top out, since you cant really see his needles, so that might be why it seems so dim

The camera I guess doesn't capture blacklight well, but its nice and bright
I think I'm the first to do this

it doesn't take long at all...i still have yet to see it while driving at night
im gonna check it out tonight on my way home from church
oh nippon, i might be sellin the car next month due to the transmission being weak in the CL, also that the value is dropping rapidly, my dad wants to sell it
if i do, i'll probably swap a buncha stuff w/ u with a small fee of what i paid for stuff etc. wanna do that? that way my car will look stock again, and you get the blue conversion, etc stuff
yea i tried to get rid of those hot spots, i shaved the top of all the LED's pretty flat, but it still has them!
It used to be a lot worse until I shaved them. Know of any other idea to spread it more? I mean its not bad at all in real life....just the "60 mph" point is a little dimmer than the rest, but other than that it looks very even
This mod is REALLY cheap
6" UV = $10 shipped
906 bulbs = $20
5mm blue LED + res = $0.20 or something
Put the UV bar above the gauges, put the 906 bulbs in the 194 socket, then put the 5mm + resistor in the 74 size bulb (the small one)
If you do it all correctly, you got a nice gauge setup
