New Stereo Install

Hey guys, just picked up an Alpine Deck, Alpine Type-S front and rear speakers, a Kenwood amp and 2 12" Kenwood Subs. Just a small budget install. Anyway, I decided to do the install myself and I'm running into some issues. I got a wire harness adapter and wired it up (tripple checked, its wired right). And installed it instead of the stock deck just to make sure it's working. And I got nothing out of whole system (still using stock front and rear speakers). I figured the issue is the stock bose amp, but then again I just read on this forum that just an aftermarket deck SHOULD work with the stock amp. So tomorrow I'm going to try to bypass the stock AMP, I haven't looked at it too much just yet but can anyone explain with a bit more detail on HOW to bypass the stock bose amp, thanks guys.

All you gotta do is hack off the stock amp plug, and rewire the connections directly to each other. The easier way is to just take a remote trigger from your amp and hook it up to the stock amp's trigger wire. If you search on here, there are wiring diagrams on here for both ways

Thanks, I hacked the amp plug and connected all the speaker wires, I'm guessing the power, and radio cables are not necessary and should be left alone? Haven't tested tonight cuz I was putting them together til 2:30AM and i'm a bit tired now, and still need to finish installing my rear speakers. I'll let ya know how it works out.

Hope it works for you, I did mine the same way years ago and never had a problem. BTW, where is Ambler?

It WORKED I'm oh so damn happy, the Alpine Type-S Speakers sound better than I expected. On the weekend I'm going to be putting in my amp and subs. Oh and ambler is about 30 minutes north of Philadelphia. Thanks for your help.

You can leave em, what are they hooked up to? Do you have x-overs for new tweeters?

I thought the front door speakers and the tweaters are wired together (i'm an audio n00b) so I just bypassed the bose amp which would mean its going straight from deck to fronts/tweeters. I could be wrong though, i didn't check for sure but they sounded like they were workin.
