new speakers
new speakers
wassup. i know that this has been asked before, but just humor me please. when changing the stock 6 1/2s and 6*9s, is it possible to just take them out and put new ones in? or do i HAVE to fuck with the stock amp. anyone's answer please?
i got 4-way pioneers for the back and 3-ways for the front. i just swapped the rear speakers, but the door panels have to be taken off to replace the front ones so i had best buy do them for $40. they worked fine with the stock amp, the only time it wont work with the stock amp on a bose system is if you get an aftermarket head unit, then the amp will have to be replaced.
I kept the OEM head unit, replaced the stock "blowz" speakers with Inifinity Reference Series 6 x 9's and 6 1/2" components, added two 12" JBL GTO subs, and topped it off with two 1400 watt amps. Did all of this for less than $500.00!
You CAN replace the speakers without changing the amp. I just don't see the point. You still will need bass. To add bass, you'll need to change amps.
I kept the OEM head unit to give the car a "stealth" look. People are floored when they get in my car, and I turn on the sound system! They have no idea what I pushing, unless they look in the trunk!
