New Magnaflow 14816 + 22 Resonator

Hey all. Quick question. I've been searching through the forum but haven't found a precise answer so apologies if this is an all too often repeated subject.
I just got a Magnaflow 14816 and a Magnapack 22" resonator for my 98 3.0cl and the question is will I need custom piping, or will the stock piping work just fine? I'm assuming that the stock pipe on the 3.0 is 2.25 so I hoped I wouldn't need to worry about that and that I could just have them replace the muff and res and that's all the expenses I would need to mess with.

Is there enough of a performance/sound difference to make the extra cost worth it though?

If you are doing new exhaust, it's worth it, most exhaust shops won't charge you much at all to do some pipe work and it'll eliminate a lot of your constrictive crushed piping

whats the inlet outlet on the muffler and resonator? if the dude has to chop off the piping between the stock resonator and muffler why not just have him replace that as well? Im sure there isnt a drastic price difference.

Its like wearing a brand new shirt and pants but still having on some old ass dirty underwear

The inlet on both the muffler and the resonator are 2.25" and I was under the impression that the pipes on the 3.0cl are 2.25" as well...

Okay, I decided to get new mandrel 2.5" piping done since the muffler shop I'm going to has the equipment for it. I had ordered the magnaflow 10435 (2.25") resonator, but I'm assuming I'll have to return it and buy the 10436 (2.5") instead. Am I correct?

You don't have to. Most 3.0CL owners prefer 2.5" because you get more air flow, Most 2.xCL owners prefer 2.25" because if you go with 2.5" piping you loose to much pack pressure.

edit: oh.. unless the shop you're going has to use the 2.5" piping.
