need help immediately please help
the other day i was in my cl and the drivers door would not open up from the outside or inside. it was all of a sudden, nothing happened to cause it. but my streetbike battery went friday and nothing is open to get a new one so i got the door panel off as much as i could without ruining it because the door is shut and i still cant really do anything,... does anyone have suggestions?
I just found this.. This is for a 2000 Honda Accord but im sure it goes the same for your/our cars.
A. I would try grabbing the rod that goes from the inside door handle to the latch with a pair of pliers and pull it and see if the door unlatches. It won't be an easy pull, but don't go nuts on it either.
If the door unlatches the problem is with the linkage rods. They will need to be adjusted. Adjustment is made by bending the rod itself. If you follow the rod for the outer door handle down to the latch, you will see a screw type adjustment. It should be screwed down just enough to open the door every time and no more.
If it doesn't unlatch, then the latch itself is the problem and probably needs to be replaced

Take the panel off and see what u can get to, if you can reach the door lock actuator or the bar from the handle itself, you may be golden. Also other members on this forum have had problems where their window regulator went and it was shorting out their door lock
if you feel resistance, its your actuator.
your gonna have to break some tabs on your door lining. so start stripping out the screws on the lining and your going to have to twist the door panel off. :speaking from experience:

I think that a friend of mine had this problem too and he had to break his panel off...
He got it back on though(with some tape and such)..
I think that it might be the actual lock itself if not the actuator..

oh sorry... well you gotta put the windows down. then remove everything from the door lining. then recline your driver seat all the way back and all the way reclined. now the tricky part... your going to have to twist the lining off... start with the back (rear of the car) extend it out as much as you can, keep in mind it wont be much space since your seat is there... and you WILL break tabs... and your going to have to be rough on it, so dont be gentle...
