NEW HID's!

Well, my friend that totaled his Lexus GS gave me his HID's out of the lights... and I retro fitted them into my housings. Not hard at all, I took the ring out that origionally holds the 9006 bulb in place and used 3 screws with washers to hold the new bulbs in place. They are very secure, and work perfectly!! I guess sometimes things have a weird way of working out, but at least I have my HID's back!!

Do they look the same as your old ones??? Better or worse??? I wonder if it's cheaper to go to a wreck yard and pull some out???

They seem to have a little more purplish color to them, but overall they seem like the same lights, maybe the ballasts make a difference, but they are the same bulbs I used to have except without the 9006 adapters on them. I'd post a picture, but I dont have a camera yet, my dad is working on that. The car was hit on the passenger side rear, kind of at an angle and crushed the whole rear end in pushing the back seat into the front. Its pretty bad, but both people were ok. You can give some yards a call and see what they want for them, but i'm guessing because they are from expensive cars, they will want a lot of money for them. My best advice is just to buy the kits off e-bay, its all the same stuff and those are easier to install. They make such a huge difference, they put all those "HID look" bulbs to shame.

Yeah, HID's are incredible. We just installed some on my friend's car... on your left are $500 Sanko (I think) HID's and on the right are $100 PIAA Superwhites (although they sure look super yellow in this pic!). Dem thangs is freakin bright!

PS: Does anybody know what kind of car this is?

Yep, one bulb... so no more high beams. But I don't think he's gonna need those anymore, especially if he replaces the foglights with driving lights.
