New to first gen CL

Hey all, im new to the first gen CL forum, Im hoping to get one. There is one at the local dealer, its champagne exterior with biege interior. I really want a nice car that i can do a few mods to such as exhaust, maybe intake, rims and a nice system. My question is , whats everyone opinion on champagne as an exterior color, i think it has the gold emblems. Is it a good color to put silver, or chrome rims on? Also if the emblems are gold, is it possible to get a gold plated exhaust tip, or would that just be stupid? As you can can im obvioulsy new to the mod scene as well. thanks

Welcome to the board You must be talking of the "primrose mist" color. I like it. There should be some gold tips available for the muffler, I've seen them on CL's with the gold package.

Welcome to the forum. I am pretty new here myself, lot of information here. What year and style are you looking at getting? The color looks good to me. You can go a few days without washing that color and still look good. My black gets dirty after a couple hours it seems like.

ok.. well welcome to the board!

i think the car you are looking at is a 99'... car came in a very gold looking champagne color. I personally hate the way it looks... I do not feel that it accents the shape of the car very well! As for chrome rims... thats a NO NO... I would do bronze or gun metal (anthracyte) rims!

welcome to the forum man....

there are lots of options to upgrade the performance the 2.2/2.3

i personally like the Primrose color on my car. i wasnt a big fan of it at first, but it really grew on me. for that color i would get some gunmetal rims

thanks for the welcome. I decided i would get the car after i saw 99CL's pics, it looks nice, what are the best mods to do? I only want to get rims and lower it, and add a system. I havent test driven the car yet, is the stick system any good. Its a 99 3.0CL.. both my parents previously had 97 3.5's and the sound in them was great, does it comparE?

You need a system in your car. I don't have nearly what some of these guys have in there rides. A good two or three grand and you won't regret it. Put on an intake and exhaust, lower it and your good to go. I don't even have rims yet.

Welcome to the board!

IMO, champagne with gold emblems would look rather odd. But hey, many here don't like the gold emblems I have on my Cypress Green Pearl. :P

You can get gold exhaust extensions from here: A&H Morotorsport.

As for rims, chrome may not look so good. I'd go with Casper98CL's suggestion.

Get the CL! It's a wise choice!
