Need Replacement Muffler & pipe assistance

Hello all,

I need a new "B" pipe & muffler. This is the pipe connecting the muffler to the c. converter. I have a hole right at the joint where the two meet. The dealer gave me a freak'n estimate of $575 for the repair. What reliable aftermarker place would you recommend I can purchase the parts from that will be a perfect factory fit? Or should I go to a Midas or somethng and see what they have available?

Any help at all will be much appreciated,

Thanks,

CarX would be your best bet if you want a replacement. If I were you, I would search for stainless steel perfomance one. But I am not, and I do not know your financual situation.

Although the dealer charges a considerable price for these parts, the parts also carry a lifetime warranty. If you install the factory parts and they go bad the dealer will install another one free!

With the price dealer charges you would replace mufler and B-pipe 3 times.

My friend was queted for exact repair $750. And he went with CARX for under $200. He's got Accord SE 1997 4cyl.

Thanks for the replies..

But, I don't have any Carx near me, I'm in NJ and I think they are only in the mid-west & South. Also, I plan to sell the car next year so I am not concerned about a lifetime guarantee from Acura for a $575 replacement of a pipe and muffler. Any good Honda-Acura reliable parts dealers that I can check on-line that you are aware of?

Still need more advise.. Thanks a lot,

Do you have MIDAS near you?

Check with them. It should cost half of the price you were queted at dealer.

I did receive an estimate from Midas a few days ago. It's less but still kinda high.
The quote is $375 vs $575 from the dealer.

Any other ideas?

go look at an exhaust shop and get a custom exhaust done, it'll be cheaper and you'll get more power
