Need a new clutch

last night at the races i pretty much burned out my clutch. i beleive it is still the first clutch and it has 87,000 mile on it. so it is about time for a new clutch anyways. i was wondering what you guys think i should do. should i get an aftermarket clutch or should i get an OEM clutch from a honda accord or something. and i f you have any idea how much it might cost for everything including labor. it will be greatly appreciated. thanks guys.

by the way i got a 16.5817 @ 85.4368 mph as my best time. i a pretty happy as this was the first time ever racing and i have no technique ever. by the way my best reaction time is a .5824 and i proud of myself for doing that.

every time a see a 1/4 time for our 2.2's i just wanna hide there soo slow !!!! ....
but anyway back on the clutch issue i got a quote from a dealer for 400 bucks just for labor 250 or so for clutch .. a good after market one is around 250-300 (or more ) but dont come with a warranty ... the new one the dealer puts in should have a lifetime warranty on it .. unless u plan on runnin a high shot of happy juice or droppin a SC or turbo i doubt u'll need an aftermarket one ....

You'll have to have the flywheel resurfaced and need a pressure plate and clutch disc.

I got an aftermarket clutch and flywheel installed for $350 worth of labor. Add your aftermarket clutch cost to that for installation.

I wouldnt pay for a clutch and put in the OEM stuff, save up and go with a ACT. You dont need to do the flywheel (expensive), but I love mine and it was worth every penny.

I'm with niedejb. Definitely get the aftermarket clutch and consider getting the flywheel. I followed niedejb's advice and love my new clutch and flywheel. I did not get the same brands but get what you can afford and a good deal, just stay with the name brand stuff and don't waste you time and money on stock unless that is the way the car will stay. Good luck.

Yes, but the flywheel is THE best mod for the 2.2.
