Need help with Wire Harness and Dash Kit for my CL

I have a 3.0 1999 CL and a AVH-P3100DVD and have 2 questions.

1. Could someone tell me what wire harness to purchase for the Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD? I can't seem to find one that's compatible with the CL and the P3100.

2. Also I want to know which double din dash kit looks the cleanest, flushest and is the easiest to install.

I used the metra 70-1720 with mine (has Bose factory amp). It's a little deceiving though, because the remote wire (amp- blue w/white stripe) coming off the Pioneer unit needs to connect to the power antenna (solid blue) on the harness, or else you'll get no sound out of the speakers. It's actually listed for Honda/Acura through 98, but the 99 3.0 CL has the same connector.

As far a double din, they pretty much all look like cheap plastic and none are particularly sturdy. They probably look great in a 92 Civic hatch, but lack the style of Acura. I sprayed mine with a couple coats of Matte Black Plastidip to give it a little extra thickness and improve the fit. Still doesn't look as sharp as the OEM pocket, but I can deal for now.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the heads up. So I just looked the 70-1720 and it says I have to have that in order to get my keyless entry? Is this true, I ended up buying a Scosche HA02B Wire Harness for Honda/Acura 86-98. A crutchfield guy told me to buy that one.

I see, yeah I want to get mine flush as possible. Have you seen any that are pretty clean?

Shit I would have sent you an extra one, I have several sitting around. The standard honda 86-98 should be fine.

I've had numerous Pioneers in my CL over the years.

Thanks for the offer. I am just glad that the one I picked up would work. Do you have any tips on the install?

Damn you have huh. That actually looks a lot cleaner than I though it would be. Looking good.

Thanks, the install's pretty straight forward, it's actually easier with your console setup, I installed a radio in a buddy's 98 and it was way easier to make sit flush than my 97. Just make sure you don't snap the woodgrain trim.
