Need Help Removing Heated Seat Buttons

I got my heated seat indicator bulbs from the dealer this weekend but can't seem to pry the switches out to get them in.

The only thing I see is the small slot in the back of the switch to insert a small screwdriver.

I took out the ashtray to get a better angle but I still can't see how to get them to pop out of there without chewing up all the plastic around the slot.

Is there a little trick or do I need to remove something else to get to them?

Thanks for any help

my friend that works at a local honda dealer says that you just pry them up. I haven't done it... but he told me there is definately nothing else you have to take out to get to them.

Jamie,

They should just pry up with a small, flathead screwdriver.

If they won't come up when prying in the "slotted" area, see if you can get the blade in on the opposite side of the switch.

I would put a thin, but tough piece of cloth under the blade of the screwdriver, just to avoid scratching/scraping the plasitc when prying.

Good luck!

Maybe I'm being too careful with it....I didn't want to make it worse than it was when the dealer took them out and chewed up the drivers side a little.

And now that it's 85 out I really need to get these fixed

On the 1998's take the center console out like your removing the radio. Then push the switch out from behind/under.

So how did you end up removing the buttons? Take out the center console and pop them out from underneath?

I tried removing the switch (to fix lighting) from the top by using the slot - I ended up chewing the heck outa the plastic. I'm going to need a new one of those sections now.
