I am going to put my headunit in my 97 cl today. are there any write-ups or anything telling me how to do it? Or could one of you run it by me real quick? Thanks in advance!

ia m using the directions on www.installdr.com , and it says that there should be a screw behind the ashtray, but there isnt one or a place for one on my 97??!? help!!?!?

Man I know your a newb but you should really do a search. All the info is on the board somewhere. I found this link to the remaval of the 98-99 cl. Hope it helps.

thank you very much- but i still cant find the instruction for radio removal for a 97, everything is for 98-99 and they arent the same

 

All you have to do is take off the black trim that goes around the radio. Just be careful not to break it. It should come right out without any problems. After you have it somewhat out you'll have to remove the two buttons and then that should do it. Then from there you should be able to get at the radio.

 

Yes I did that and have also removed the two screws underneath the bleck trimming. In one of the threads you linked me to, it said the radio should pull out after that, but that is not the case with mine. It is hung up somewhere else too, but i cant pin-point where

 

mine still has the tape player if that makes some kind of a differance

 

Hmm... Can't really help you with that one then. Mine just comes right out. Maybe it had a previous headunit in there and the person that use to own it installed the stock unit back in. While doing this maybe they screwed it in somehow. I dont really know.

 

Maybe thats it. I have the Acura bose headunit in mine. Maybe they are attached differently.

 

dude, if you cant figure out how to take your damn headunit out...or how to use the search button...then give up and go to the local car shop and let them do it for you...........
