Need Help . . . h22a Swap

No, it's NOT for me! :P

A friend of a friend wants to drop an h22a into his 2.3CL.

I haven't paid much attention to all the h22a threads over the years, so I'm clueless.

Questions:

1) Can he bolt his 2.3's 5-speed to the h22a?

2) There's only a slight adjustment needed to one of the motor mounts, correct?

3) What to do about an ecu (especially if the 2.3's 5-speed can bolt to the h22a)?

4) Any places you recommend to buy the h22a (he lives in the Greater Washington, DC area)?

5) Any other info I should pass to him?

Many thanks!

Yes, Yes, there are an assortment of ecu's you can run from GSR's to Custom tuned ones, etc. There are various places on the net to buy motors from, i'm sure some will post some up. Enjoy.

I have heard good things about www.hmotorsonline.com.

edit: one of the guys in the hybrid seciton of www.honda-acura.net told me that I could use my f22 tranny with the h22 if I had to, but said something about the f22 tranny's gear ratios not taking advantage of the h22's power.

He's going to have to choose between an obd1 or obd2 H22. I would buy a package that has motor, tranny and ecu. He could use the F22 tranny but the gear ratio's are longer. He'll need a jumper harness for an obd1 setup. You want to use the H22 ecu wich should be a p13.

yes, the prelude headers wont line up with the f22/23 exhaust, so a custom flange needs to be fabricated.
