NEED HELP with the BASSLINK installation
alright i just got my basslink for 200 flat, spent another 25 on the monster cable 200 watt amplifier hookup, now i need to know what to do, anyone here hook up the basslink? I've never done anything with audio so I don't really know where to start, but I'm guessing I need to run a wire from the battery to the back, thanks in advance, i'm dying to put this thing in

well i'll give you a bump because it seems like you have a factory HU so it is different than just plugging in the RCA cables. I know you have to run the power from the battery with a fuse to the back. You also have to run a remote turn on lead and a rcas but i dont know how to do it on a Bose HU. You might want to try a search here and in the stereo forum because i know installing a sub with the stock HU has come up before and i know dust has done it Good luck

okay so i know now to get a power line from the battery going to the rear, anyone know how to do this? yea i've figured that i need to tap into the rear speakers with the line converter too, does the converter come with the "monster cable" package for amplifer kit, where do i run the power line from the front? is there a way for me to dig it under the carpet? I also have a remote bass controller, how does that wire to the front? thx for the feedback and the bump, didn't think anyone would respond

to get the wire from the front to the back, search under your hood for teh hood release cable. at the end of that should be a rubber gromet. Push one end of the wire through the gromet and go look under your dash (and behind your pedals) for the wire. i've been able to fit 4 guage wire through there so there shouldn't be a problem. one note: i used to own a basslink...not too bad for being such a compact unit. 200 watts RMS...10" sub with a 10" passive woofer...haha
to run the cabl to the back, lift off the plastic molding that's right next to the side skirts, which holds down the carpet. from there, it should be self-explanitory. by the way, if you want the best sound possible and you dont want to sacrifice your rear speakers, get yourself a new head unit. dont go stock. stock sucks.

sound quality will just be much better...and remember, you're going to need to sacrifice your rear speakers just for the bass....if you get an aftermarket H/U then you can keep your rear speakers

you won't need to sacrifice your rear speakers, the converter hooks in line with them. I would still recommend getting a new headunit. With a decent one you can cross the front and rear speakers over so they wont see anything below 100hz(bass frequencies). That way, they wont sound all farty when you turn is up louder. Plus it will play newer cds/cd-rs and in some cases MP3's. Not to mention the stock ones usualy shit out eventually..mine did. :thumbsdn:
