Need H22 info.

Ok I'm getting the h22 at the end of the month. It's out of a 2000 Prelude, so I'm staying OBD2. I just need some info. Is it a direct bolt in swap? Do I use my ac compressor, power steering pump? I'm using my tranny so what flywheel do I use? What wiring needs to be changed? I'll be getting the type s tranny after september. If any of you guys can help me out it would be great You can lso pm me if you like.

i would advise you to go to obd1 as you will have many o problems with obdII. all you will need is a conversion harness and a obd1 ecu. I could go on forever about it but ask anyone and they will tell you. OBD1 is the way to go on this. Your ac compressor will fit and so will the alternator. And since its a 2000 your ps pump should have no problem fitting either.

I wouldnt say you would have problems. OBD2 is just not programable. OBD1 is very programable and doesnt need to recognize as many sensors to run the motor. Running your car OBD1 is as simple as plugging in an OBD2a to OBD1 Jumper harness and OBD1 ecu. You dont have to change any other shit on the motor. Really, everything under the hood will be hooked up OBD2 style. Your just changing the OBD where the harness enters the ecu.

But the motor I'm buying is an OBDII motor. I'm not planning turbo,sc,nitrous, or any big mods. So other than modification-wise, why is it better to run OBDII? Is it just a pain in the ass to do? No ofense but I see some of the guys on the board having trouble with their swaps running OBDI. Oh and thanx for answering my questions. I was worried about my powersteering and air.

I have the exact same situation, same engine year and everything, but I'm goin OBD2 only for now because I want that BAR sticker since I'm in Cali. You have to get your ECU reprogrammed if it wasn't the exact same one that came with your engine because it has an immobilizer in it. I'm just gonna use a 96 ECU because it's still OBD2 but doesn't have an immobilizer.

Check this place out, I found it and it helped me a lot.

Running into bullshit wiring problems an such, is typical of any motor swap. Stock Honda ecu's have good programming but when you add a bunch of bolt on goodies, they change the way the motor opperates, so often upgrading or changing the programs inside to run well with the modifications are a good idea. YOU CANT DO DICK WITH AN OBD2 ECU. But at least you can be smog legal with OBD2.
