Need A-CL Opinions....
Hey fellow members. I'm in a bit of a dliema right now as to what I should do. I currently took my car to another shop just last week. As of now, they guranteed that the job can get done. Well, I'm not to comfortable that the job can get done in a timely matter as they only have 2 employees. The job is pricey regardless, so why not take it to a huge shop that is known for their work. It seems like the most simple thing has become nothing but a drag for me. Don't get me wrong, the guys at the shop seem great, but I'm just afraid it might too big of a job for them to deal with while taking on other projects at the same time.
I have a ticket to go back to Cali next Tuesday which I had planned on canceling. But now I kind of think I should go to SoCal and pull my car out personally this time. And just take it to a shop I'm comfortable with, and not one that everyone else recommends to me. I am just literally scared that I'll end up dissapointed once again. What would you guys do in this situation?
Take it to another shop, or give these guys a try?

If they came highly recomended, hang in there and let them work on it. I mean, how many mechanics does it take to make a 3.5 out of a 3.0? There is a joke in there somewhere.
Did they give you a date of completion? If you see the signs of them being overwhelmed then go to another shop... otherwise let them work. I bet they are good and can do it.
You said the shop is small. Is it well equipped? If so, give them a chance. Odds are, if they say they can do it, they can. They have nothing to gain by stalling and letting your car take up space in their shop.
Are there a lot of broken down cars there? If so, reconsider leaving it. Especially if the cars are dusty and look unkept. Just a sign of shotty business. But if the lot looks clean and you don't see the same junkers there all the time, you are probably in good hands.
Good luck bro, and "GET "ER DONE SOON." We can't wait any longer.

Well, I haven't seen the shop in person just yet. My friends were the ones that were in charge of having my car towed out there. The hsop was recommended by a member over at v6p.net. The shop doens't have the machinery to do custom fabrication, therefore my car will have to be towed out of there to have jobs like that done.

with plat, if they don't have the tools to custom fab stuff, and you have to tow it elsewhere, take it to a shop that can do all the work for you in house.

Aidan also came highly recommended at V6p.net, and look at what kind of shit he pulled off. Are you going to try to get all that money back from aiden since he didn't do shit?
oh yeah, and that tranny I wanted to buy of you, is that in cali? If so let us know if you will be going or not on the 21st so I can call up dr evil.

Brother, this job needs to get done.
If you have the slightest bit of hesitation in thinking about keeping it at this shop (and you've already given some reasons) then maybe you should serioiusly consider moving it to a bigger shop. Not that these guys can't do the job (I just wouldnt know that) but the fact that they wouldn't have the tools to do what needs to be done is just a little weird to me.
In the end, its all about how comfortable YOU feel having this thing done wherever it is. Not what your friends say, because its not THEIR car thats being left in a shop for several months. It's YOURS.
Go with your gut feeling man. If its moving it to the bigger shop, then do it. If it's keeping it here at this one, the leave it and see what these guys can do.
Either way, I hope your pockets are deep.
Again, always wishing you the best of luck with this project man.

If that shop doesn't have all the requirements, PULL IT NOW!. If you are still in TX, you should consider Jackson Racing. They are HONDA/ACURA specialists.
But you need to get it to a shop that can do alll the required fabrication. Otherwise, you will be waiting for shit to be outsourced, and you don't want that going on.
Good luck.

I am soo lost in what to do. I am paying them $2,000 today as a deposit if I do decide to keep the car there. I am leaving to SoCal after all to deal with this damn car. I will be working for J&H Performance in the meantime and Corona Auto. I will be canceling my plane ticket after all, but I will be driving out there instead so that I can drive to and from the shop when needed. I am still debating on what to do. I don't know who to listen to...

well, if you do decide to leave the car at the "smaller" shop, make up some sort of contract stating that your car needs to be done on or b4 a specific date. This willl pretty much tell the people at the shop that your not fucking around..., oh and always, good luck

Oh yea, we're not moving to NJ anymore. My parents decided to keep the house out in Tx cause they didnt like what they saw out in NJ/NY. My father is going to resign from the company up north and buy a busniess over here.
As for the car, I went ahead and gave the deposit through paypal. The shop seemed reallly eager to get started on the project, and I'll be seeing them in a few days. Since I'll be living in SoCal till the project is done, I'll get to see their progress weekely. Let's see what this shop can do...
