my tranny changed shift points

lately when i floor it my slowmatic shifts into third at like 6500-6800 rpms instead of like 6000-6300. ill be going a good 50-60mph. i first realized this becuase of the unormal engine spounds at 6000+ rpm im not used to hearing. u think its somethin as simple as resetting the ecu? whats the rev limiter 7200??? if so then im not too worried.

the car si completey warmed up. since its so damn cold lately i have been messin around becuase my cl is a whole diff car in the winter. it shifts normal under normal driving but now when i floor it it shifts to 3rd at 6300+ usually 6500-6800. it always used to shift right b4 redline. also i got to pay attention if its still in gear or its the split second in between that it jumps up. when i get a chance im just gonna reset the ecu. im not that worried. just wondering if n e elses cl like to shift past redline. well on the tach n e ways. im pretty sure actual red line is 7200.

My CL was shifting into third when the tach went into the red. I tried hitting the rev limiter. I can't remember at what point it actually hit, but it was well into the red.

it sounds more louder and noisy

after it warms up it
sounds back to normal

im not talkin about b4 it warms up, i m not an idoit guys. im talkin about normal operation. all i was saying about the cold is that my i4 loves to suck in the 10 degree air through the cai. its a whole different car. all im saying is that when i floor it it doesnt shift into 3rd until about 6500-6800 rpms. the only thing i dont know is if its the split second its between gears that its jumping or if it rides 2nd until 6800.

Well if your car is shirfting past the red line limiter, (in an automatic) then your tranny might be slipping. If it takes about a sec to change gears, again, your tranny might be slipping. Does it feel like itz in neutral for a second when it attempts to change gears? Oh, and if you want to reset your ECU, all you have to due is disconnect the battery, and then plug it back in. After that, you let the car idle for about 15 mintues, then you can drive it. Thatz how you reset your ECU.

it changes gears fast however under wot there is a jump between 2nd and third. it may be the begging of the end. it happens so fast though its hard to tell if its the tranny is in between gears. im leaning towards yes becuase there is no explanation in the change of sound. my warrenty is up apri 04. so im gonna beat on it and see what happens.
