i was thinking of getting one of ebay. there is a DTM style muffler being sold for pretty cheap. well when i mean by good is a deep tone nothing too loud and thats exactly what i am trying to avoid sounding like a piece of crap. let me rephrase my question. if i dont change my piping when i add a a muffler will it sound crappy.

depends on the muffler..............the N1 style with/without the silencer don't sound too bad with the stock piping.

I bought a DTM style muffler off eBay a little while back(Arospeed). It sounded very deep, which I liked. However, it was way too loud for my tastes. It was on a little less than a week before I took it off and put the stock muffler back on. Right now the shop is holding my muffler - the guy there thinks he get me $80 for it so I get all my money back less what I paid for installation. One more thing about universal mufflers - most of them have a center inlet while our stock muffler has a offset inlet. The shop you take it to will have to custom bend a pipe to fit it in there, which depending where you go can be very costly.

In the end, I really liked the tone of the muffler, but ti was way too loud for my tastes.

I hope this helps you in your decision.

I have a HKS with dual outlets that looks just like the stock 3.0 muffler the sound is deep but deffinately not to loud not even close to a N1 or something like that. I have gotten many compliments on the tone and sound level I highly recommend it.

I got the HKS muffler from my friend who was selling his 300zx I had my muffler guy custom fit it. It was only 2 months old when he sold the car so the thing was still basically new when I got it he sold the other one to this other guy we know. we each got one for $150. Good deal for HKS his loss our gain.

if you have the 3.0 the N1 isnt going to sound high pitched and raspy cuz you have a 6 cylinder. if you have a 2.x then it will.

I could be wrong....but they don't make the N1 for 94-97 accords. Is there a different application that we could use?
