I am changing out the crappy stock head unit from my car and putting in an Alpine headunit. How am i supposed to mount it? There arent any brackets or anything to hook it up to, i cant get the rest of the center console out to drill from the sides. what do you guys suggest?

I didn't really offer the solution per say, but rather addressed specific issues.

djz had enquired into what was necessary for mounting a head unit and EQ. I suggested that he need a double din kit and gave him the description:
