Mom drove my car and curbed my lip

Mom was hit by a red light runner in the town i go to school in so i gave her mom car for a day until the company gave her another company car. I come home to pick it up this morning and notice the front lip has deep scratches all over the passenger side and is white. Argh this makes me so mad, she drives it one day and my couple years of driving with the lip and no scratches are over. I asked her to be careful and she said ok but said she wanted to make a small turn and needed to go up the curb to do it But i cant get mad at her after all she is my mom and just was hospitalized for an accident Can they fix urethane? The scratches are decently deep

Factory wheels, you may be able to ask around at some wheel joints and find out a place that refinishes the wheels.

urethane?? I didn't know the factory rims are made from that. But a body shop can fix it, they probably would have to repaint that section though.

As long it is not cracked he can fix it. They just put some finishing icing or bondo and repaint it.

Personally, I'd have them remove the lip, refinish it, paint it, re-tape it, then install it.

This is what I had done with mine! Total cost for the "re-do"was $150.

BTW: Patrick, it's good to see that you have compassion for your Mom and haven't decided to "kill" her!

Damn i got screwed a couple of years ago. Hmm but I was missing a small chunk of it though so that might be the reason the shop didn't want to replace the bumper. It cost $100 for the bumper + $250 to paint it. But the lip is very easily fixable.

My dad decided to drive my car when I was out of town and he scratched one of my new rims a week after I got them. Good luck with fixing the lip.

I dunno, i can understand its your mom and you wanted to help her out, but why does she have too be so ignorant. Waht she thinks that just cause she doesnt give a shit about her car nobody cares about theres. From what your saying she obviously knew she was gonna run over a curb and did it on purpose. What was she thinking. These people shouldnt even have licenses.

Hey brian i appreciate your concern but my mom used to drive from south jersey to manhattan in this car everyday along with others and put around 100k on a car a year for 20 years with no accidents over her life so i say she is pretty good Everyone slips up some it just sucks when it happens

i only let certain people drive my car, and they always have to go through the "you need to be careful" speech, every time.

Glad to hear your mom is okay from her accident...i'm sure that was really scary. But you are more trusting than i am...i dont know if i would have let my mom hold my car. I told her if she ever wants to drive it we will have to go through driving lessons, there's alot you have to watch out for when a car is dropped.

and you can't get mad at her...she is your mom and i'm sure she would never do anything like that on purpose. Good luck with getting it fixed
