I've acquired a 1998 CL 3.0L as my first car. Other than some needed touchup work, it's in fairly good shape. It's white with a spoiler, gold package, and completely stock. I've been looking through some of the galleries and you guys do amazing work. I've been doing some searching through Google (which lead me here) and it seems like there's not a whole lot of modifications available for the first generation CLs. Yet a lot of you guys have some really cool and unique stuff on yours. Would you mind PMing me or posting some links to modifications or how-tos? I'm not looking to go very extreme, but things like the Autotechnic S7 Reverse Gauges I find very cool.

i wish i had an acura cl 3.0 for my first car. i had an 85 nissan pulsar, and i lost a race to a 3cyl geo metro. man im poor.

 

my first car was a 75 Fiat X1-9. then i moved up to an RX-7(RIP) and now the trusty Ac. as far as cars that ive had over 6 months without fuckin up, the CL is my first car.

yea, I rolled the Civic, 2 and1/2 times. (don't drive angry) and the Dyhatsu I bought for $150 while I payed off my hospital bills, and the Firbird, I't was a pile, but I was only 18 and seen "Smoky and the Bandit" way to many times.

 

my first car was a nissan 1990 240sx 5spd. has anybody driven one of those??? those cars a fun as hell to drive. especially when ur turning and doing donuts.

and my second car will be a 2.3 any second now....

I miss rear wheel drive bad, I had a brand new 2000 Firebird (Formula V8) got eaten by a dodge ram 3500 dualie, that was the only real nice car that I had other than the Ack. Had 2 saturns, and an old intrepid before it. Miss my firebird though, RIP.

 

yeah my 7 was a RWD. i had a 1.1L 79ci monster. i think i had it pushin about 110hp ya know with my catback exhaust, custom fabbed CAI, headers, and polished intake and exhaust ports. unfortunately once i hit about 210k miles it started to sputter a bit. it was burning oil and other bad shit like that. come to find out the intake manifold gasket was bad and was letting water into the combustion chamber. spent about 30 bucks and a few hours of my time fixing it. then about 300 miles later tha clutch disk AND pressure plate AND bearing fucks up. that was about a 300 dollar job and 2 days without my car. went fine for about a week then it started sputtering again. i could figure out what it was so i took it to a shop and had them look at it. took em a while but i got a call back a couple of days later sayin the apex seals (kinda equal to piston rings in function) were shot and the rotar apex had started to etch large gashes in the sides of the rotat housings. gonna cost about 4k for a swap, goin for a 2.0L twin turbo 3rd gen engine. still saving up for it. ive also used alot of my spare time stripping the interior out except for the seats. how can you guys say youve had shitty cars.

if you guys want i can post some pics. its very dirty right now being as its been sitting in the driveway for about a year and a half.
