What do you guys think about this set up. Check it out here on ebay.

Do you know if anyone has had problems with this brand and what brand would you prefer. Thanks

there are better brands out there... and plus a 5" screen is pretty small... but it all depends on what you can afford. I'd need to take out a loan to get video in my car!! I'm very picky about brands and quality.

Looks kinda cheap in my opinion. I would go for a better brand name.

Pyle is cheap. Get it if you want to but don't be mad if it's missing some of the good features and if the screen is too small.
It looks to me like the tv itself is too big to fit anywhere in the car without being conspicuous.

My $.02

I wouldn't get it. I think you would regret it. I've had my Alpine IVAC800 for almost a year and I love it.

Na, stay clear from that one. A 5" screen for indash is quite small. At least a 6.X or 7" for indash. I took the other route, I put 5.6" LCDs in my visors. They are just the right size to sit there and watch, not too small and not too big. http://www.geocities.com/jayhowell007/DCP01180.JPG and http://www.geocities.com/jayhowell007/DCP01182.JPG IF THE LINKS DON'T WORK, JUST COPY THE URL TO YOUR BROWSER, Geocities sux. I just put them up there real fast so you can see, sorry for the whole URL in the post, I'm in a hurry. OH, and if you wanted to do it this way, our mirrors in the visor are ALMOST the perfect size for the depthness of the LCDs. I only had to trim about 1/4 inch on the sides.

I threw together a small web page explaining a little on how I did it and what I needed. The LCD monitors are Power Acoustik, they are 4:3 ratio and are 960X234 resolution. They have seperate kits for headrests, the sides are alot smaller. I also wanted to get a 7" an mount it coming off my center console so the back seat passngers can just flip it up and watch but I never have any rear passengers so its kind pointless. Here is where I put up a page http://home.adelphia.net/~jayhowell/Stereo.htm
I'll have to make a site with all my pictures of my ride and other CLs.

I have the exact same nokia hands free but my 6190 stopped working and i cant get another one on the sprint network so i want to change and get a phone that fits my hands free. I'm guessing cingular? Thats the only carrier that seems to have it around here.

LET ME TELL YOU ALL A LITTLE ABOUT LCD MONITORS!!! I BET 99% OF YOU HAVE NEVER HEARD THIS OR WONT BELIEVE THIS!!!

90% of every lcd monitor, whether it be for a car, home, laptop, boat, and whether it is from alpine, power acoustik, whatever, are all made by SHARP. for example, if you take 100 popular laptops and remove the monitor, look the serial up, it will be manufactured by sharp. same with anything else, ie car stuff, home theatre....etc...

a friend of mine, who was told by Verizon they would pay for him to fly to Pittsburgh and have lunch with the PA head technician officer to discuss a job opportunity simply because he had called Verizon with dozens of exploits he had figured out (ie cloning, scanning, sim id transfers), knows everything there is to know about technology. unbelievably, he is only 19, has hacked the NASA website, as well as the University of Temple. not something he does to cause trouble, just wants to see if it can be done. by the way, he recommends hotmail as the email of choice, he says it can not be hacked! anyway, to the point, he explained why Sharp makes 90% of all liquid crystal displays (8% by another company i cant remember). then they give the rights for them to be used as a component in other manufacturers products.

what am i trying to say? they are all the same!!!!!!!!!!!!! there are a few minor differences between models. i have already ripped apart expensive and cheap lcd units only to find the circuitry the same as well as serial #'s.

one major difference tha WILL make a difference between lcd's is resolution dots.

anyway, just thought you guys would like to know. this friend of mine also showed me how inexpensive it is to built a computer (anywhere from $40-$150 depending on your tastes) and how a company that sells complete kits that you pay $1000 for from gateway and dell for only $300 can sell them on the internet. sorry, i cant disclose that website yet

1stGenCL: Ya, I love the phone. At first I had the 6120 then I lost it an amusment park. I then got the 8260 but it was just too damn small and it wasn't compatible with my hands free kit either. So I sold that and picked up the 7160, it's a great phone, SMS is fun with friends and e-mail ability is great too. I also use it as a modem via infra red with my Palm Vx. I use Cingular, I guess they are not all that bad, even though I heard horror stories.

rmstoico: I agree with you about the monitors, many are all the same. Just like the mobile DVD players like the Blaupunkt I have, they are all the same chipsets and DVD ROMs so it makes no difference which one you get. The chipset I have in the Blaupunkt is the SAME EXACT chipset I have in my Apex AD600A home DVD player, same MP3 menu and everything. I have to disagree with you on the computers issue though. You TOTALLY get what you pay for. I only build my own PCs, i would never buy a ready made and it's always alot cheaper. I can go on and on about the computers because it is my field but I'm not gonna bore you guys.

i never said computer components are the same, the only thing i said was that 90% of all computer lcd's are made by sharp.
