Hey. I'm interested in getting tint on my 01 CL and need some advice. I was told that because I am running navigation and XM that I should not get metallic tint cause it can interfere with reception. My problem is that the carbon based tint only comes in 15, 35, and 50. I was hoping to get 30% all around which I can do with metallic. Since the carbon tint is newer technology there has to be plenty of people running navi and XM with metallic tint. Has anybody run into problems with this?

 

welcome to azine but an 01 is 2nd gen.you should have more answers to your ?'s in the 2nd gen forum. Our cl's don't come with navigation some people have installed them in 1st gens but i would ask the second genners.
i personally never heard of tint affecting reception but i could be wrong.

It all depends on where your antennas are, most xm antennas are external and mounted on the roof because they need to pickup satellite signals

 

this is true but then would metallic paint affect reception?if there is no metal on or surrounding the ant. why would there be a prob?
