May have totalled it....pics as soon as I can find my cam
Between everything going on in my life, I've been stressed out beyond belief....waiting for my car to get fixed (body guy's slacking), nearly getting fired from one of my jobs (a manager let me "get myself fired" for something accidental and then reported me to the boss instead of correcting a situation before I even made a mistake), my girlfriend living 1400 miles away, and the general stress that comes from working 55 hours this week and not having any life. That having been said here's what happens.
There's a pile up on the road going to work, there's only one lane. It's going uphill....my feet are on the clutch and brake and I'm coming to a stop. My brakes aren't as responsive as the truck I drive at work, and I already wasn't thinking clearly, so misjudged my braking distance or didn't hit the brake hard enough. I take my eyes off the road for a second, and then it happened.
Now, I only hit her at about 5 mph....if I had a bumper on my car, we probably wouldn't have needed to even exchanged information. But instead, her rear bumper cover was punctured in a few spots from my twisted bumper brackets, and my whole hood was curled up with my radiator support bashed in.. I now need TWO new headlights and frame work.
So after panicking over my CL, I go over to her window and say "miss, can I talk with you?" then I tap the window to see if she even notices I'm there. I go through this like 10 times, she doesn't talk to me, she's on her phone. The cops show up, he tells me that she was calling 911 telling them I was banging on her window and screaming at her that I wanted to talk to her. To give you an idea, this girl was like 5'6", 75lbs, and 23 years old. You should already know the type. If you don't, then you will when I tell you she had her DAD show up to comfort her. She was whining, and telling the cop right in front of me that I was screaming at her, and she couldn't help but chuckle as she said it.
I dunno, I had my body guy look at it, he says that the damage that was done might warrant being totalled because they don't know what problems will happen down the road. It all depends on the company I guess.....anyone have experience with state farm?
I have the worst luck with this car.....It's been good to me, but it might just be a bad omen, seeing how I bought it coincidently....At least I only paid $4000 and the blue book's probably higher, so if it's totalled, I'll make out....pay off the loan, get me a nice 89 Supra or fix my 84.....I miss having a sports car.

Probably cuz there was no bumper, 5 mph is a lot, with no styrofoam or shock absorbers. That sucks man, very painful to look at. Hope that brat doesn't mess with your life too bad. Good luck to you, let us know how it all goes

I'm gonna have a hard time explaining the bumper to the insurance company I reckon....I just got off the phone, just gave them all the info....waiting to hear back. I told the guy that the bumper had a large crack in it when I bought it, even tho it wasn't reported in carfax. So hopefully the story that I tore it off and stuck it in my garage so my body guy could look at it will fly.

I got into a similar accident a while back. We were both crossing an intersection with no stop sign, she was on the right and speeding. We hit. As soon as it happened I jump out of my car, run to the girls car to see if she's allright. She's there talking on her cell phone and doesn't even roll her window down. I think...I think she even gave me the "one moment" gesture with her finger. Stupid bitch...
Sorry about your car. At least you have full coverage. I only had liability and they said it was my fault, so I just lost $4000.

That would be CLPlatano's b/f jandj2207.
Nick - It hurts me to see your CL like this. Don't worry everything will turn
out fine.

Take it to another shop, that aint totaled. The support bar barely got bent. My support bar was worse when I hit the mountain, mountain racing. Seriously, that can be fixed. I also hit some about 45mph and it's still here (his fault, not mine), there no way your shit is totaled man.
