You must not like your tires very much.

Control arms, balljoints, downpipe and exhaust pipes are what take the most abuse.

I dropped my car like Klepto's, and I put nearly 10k miles on my new tires and they still have plently of tread. Although I have a feeling I will be needing new ball joints sometime in the future...

Sorry to thread jack... but I get a slight clicking noise coming from the right rear wheel well when I accelerate or downshift, I thought it was the jack rattling around, but I took everything out of the car and it still does it sometimes. No weird vibrations or anything so thats good.

Maybe its time to get some bigger wheels and coilovers.

Yea, I like riding slammed on 16"s but having to replace axle's and ball joints every 6-12 months isn't that appealing

I've been looking at 17" and 18"s, I like the way GarfieldwithCL's car rides and I think he just has 17"s. Plus I've already got Illuminas so I could just buy some Ground Controls and be happy with that.

umm did you ever take off the tire and check the inside tread? when i traded wheels with art, my tires were completely bald on the inside down to the wire.

are you going to get springs or coilovers? springs arent adjustable. a camber kit wont cost you too much, but the labor cost of getting the springs installed will rape you.

Its so easy to do yourself... I went to Harbor Freight Tools and got the spring compressors, they cost me like 12 bucks I think... They have a hydralic one for like 50 bucks, but I have a compressor so I just got regular ones..... I think my front took me like 30 min a piece. My back took me like another 30 minutes the next day.

yes but it wont be the drop you expected because the 3.0 is heavier, if it was designed for the 3.0 then the drop will be less than what you expected. but if it was designed for the 2.x and you're gonna put it on the 3.0 the drop will be more than you expected.

Possibly the wheel bearing? Lift the car up and see if you have any play with the wheel. If so, then the wheel bearing should be replaced.

he said rear wheel though, but maybe the noise is coming from the front. Sometimes it is hard to distinguish.

It shouldn't be an axle or boot, I just got them replaced like two months ago... I'll check and see if its the wheel bearing tomorrow though.

I have good news and bad news:

The good news:
I checked the wheels, its not the ball joints or any bushings. I don't think my axles or CV joints are bad either.

The bad news:...

I think its my transmission >_<

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQoBfU33F-U

The first cut is with the car in neutral, and the second is with it in gear. It sounds like its coming from inside the transmission, not the CVs (I know what that sounds like, unfortunately). The weird thing is that my transmission doesn't slip, grind, or have any problems going into gear. It just makes some noise sometimes when I accelerate from a stop or downshift... wtf

Yea the other side sounds exactly the same. I'm home for another four days so I'll see if I can pull the axles out and see whats up... >_>

honestly that sounds normal.. all thats right inside there is the differential.. which is surrounded by two bearings right were the shafts go in. thats all mechanical gears right there. if there was a problem there it wouldnt slip. it would grind while turning or have a huge clunk when you go into gear. was the entire front end off the ground (both tires)
