Major Problem - Need Help Please

I have a CL 3.0, 1998. About a month ago I was dring down the road and the car cut off. It wasn't running hot or anything, just cut off. I put it back in parkand it crunk back up and I dorve on. A few weeks later it did it again. Yesterday it happend twice and now I can't go .5 miles witout it doing it.

Whenever it happens I have to crank the car up and give it a lot of gas. When the car cuts off all lights cut off, and when it comes on it likes a fresh crank. I have noticed that when i cut it all the way off it makesa weird sound. Can someone please shed some light on this and let me know if it's somethhing I may need to change out like a fuel filter?

yeah sounds likea fuel problem. It's probably not getting enough fuel, so it's the same as running out of gas. Either that or teh fuel isn't sparking, so it just dies. So it's either a ignission issue, or a fuel issue.

did u have the ignition recall done yet? of not get it done, then if that dont work its a power problem. eather the battery ground to chassy. or ground to block check them and make sure thier not corroded. if those arent the problem.... hate to say it but ur alternator is prolly being an ass hole.

i replaced the alternator about six months ago, new battery at the same time so I don't think that's it. how long ago was the ignition recall? i took it in for a recall a little over a year ago.

i'm thinking it's the fuel pump or the sock(filter). i know on some honda's the fuel pump can be accessed under the back seat. is it the same for the cl?

the ignition recall was less than than a year ago i would bring it down and have it done again, maybe you got another faulty ignition again

OK, i called Acura and they told me that I have two ignition recalls on the car that haven't been fixed. Of course I will have to have it towed over to the shop. The guy said if this is the problem they'll cover the towe, if not I will and whatever they have to do to the car. Does the ignition recall sound like what's wrong with my car?

wow, speaking of recalls. I took my car to the dealership that the previous owner would have taken it to and he wasn't even in teh computer anymore, meaning he hadn't been there for over 3 years!!! I have a 99 3.0 and don't know how to go about getting the recall stuff done. Should I just call an acura dealership and ask them what recalls have been done for my car? If I'm not having problems should I still get them done?
