maintance required light

I was driving today and my maintance light turned red, and when i bought my car the dealer said that the 60000 mile checkup had just been performed. My milage now is 66500 and i havent even gone 3500 miles since my oil change. Any comments.

stick your key into the slot next to the light and it will become green. sometimes the dealer forgets to do that.

its not a light

I took apart the gauges as most of u know and did an extensive report on it

The maintenance light is controlled by the mileage odometer, like every 100 miles or so, the maintence odo turns one notch. So after enough miles, the color changes

It's a green, then yellow, then red change. It spins, no electronic light involved. So yes the key thing will work. It basically lifts the lock on the notches, and resets it back to the beginning green. I believe it goes off every 7500 miles? My guess

Do the key thing ...Don't drive to long without resetting it after it turns red because you risk the chance of breaking it when you reset it because it gets stuck and you have to push the key in harder to get it to reset...

listen to what we are saying, there is nothing eletronic about that "light". Its just to remind you about an oil change. Make sure you are not getting mixed up with check engine light.

It's not a light, or any other kind of electronic devise!

It's an indicator that is mechanical in nature.

Just put your key into the slot, and it'll go back to green.

It turns to red @7500 miles.
