Made a big oopsie

Ok so I got my indiglo guages tonight.. I was so excited to install.. Well I made few minor mistakes..

First off I broke the plastice cluster cover.. (Does anyone have any they want to sell?)

I also broke the needle for the gas guage... Yeah I know fuck.. Does anyone know how to fix this or what the cost is to fix this at the dealership? Any ideas.. All is welcome.. I hoep the low fule guage still works without the needle..

Ok well i need suggestions ASAP, I need the fuel gauge to work...

I'd rather break the gas gauge lol, I think its better to run out of gas than to have my car overheat every time it runs without me knowing, plus you can just keep track on your odometer to know about when you should fill up, to be safe, get gas every 200 miles til you get a new gauge.

Nope, once you pull off the needle it's done. You'll never get it back to where it's suposed to be.

Each guage is independant from one another, so yes, you can replace just one if you need to.

What about on the back side of the panel/board is it soldered in or what. I never went as far as to take off the back side.. i just put it back in for now until i get the parts.. I had to get to work.. Wish i could have used it as a sick day..

there are just 3 screws that hold the gas gauge in on the back, if you take off the white plastic part on the back you'll see the circuit board and the 3 screws you need to take out

Yeah in doing some digging on Ebay I actually saw a pic of the 94-97 instrument panel and realized it was the exact same one..

I take it the Gauges are plug n play??

I called a place and they will sell the entire cluster for 50...

they are plug and play, and $50 is a good deal, keep in mind that the gauage cluster changes the mileage on your odometer as well

Good News

Ok so I recieved another cluster from a 97 accord.. No problems excpet the brackets werent in the same exact place, But it mounted with minor adjustments. I basically had to install the entire cluster from the Honda, cause the needles were of different color..

But the problem I am noticing is that the TAC-o-meter is getting stuck in certain positions. Does anyone else have this issue that has changed or added face plates over thier instrument panel?

I am told it would cost 250 to mail it out and get this fixed.. What the hell.. Anyone have suggestions or solutions..

Do you have an auto or manual? Is the gauge cluster from auto or manual? If they both match, check all your connections first

The cluster was from a manual.. I have auto.. But when I was working with the original cluster.. After I put the gauge faces on I had issues with that one as well. Like from having to move it to put the face over it... It works, it just gets stuck in certain areas.. And it seems like it goes into a higher range.. Like maybe I messed up motor on it or something....YIKES

Do you have a 3.0? Because I don't think the tach sensors are the same. But if you had problems with the other cluster, maybe you messed up something else. But manual 2.x to 3.0 shouldn't work i don't think

I removed the cluster from the salvaged car itself..

Yeah Im not sure..

I would like to have this fixed. But all in all its just cosmetic for the most part.. But i would have to mail it away to a company and it takes like a 10 days to get it done.. I was also quoted like 250 from a car shop to mail it off... FUCKING BIOTCHH
