Lowering a 97 3.0 cl

I wanna lower my car, but you know how older people are.. They tell me it fucks up your car..

Anyway.. I just totaled my altima, Im getting a 97 cl..

Whats the best way of lowering it (what products, etc)
Im thinking maybe only 1.5 in drop.. just enough to close the wheel well gap..

What is the best way? Will this mess the suspension up? What effects will it have?

Let me know....

eibach prokits will drop ur car at least 1.5" close to 2" after they settle and depending upon what shocks u got. u have to replace the shocks. u will blow the old oems out and will have to do the same work twice or even worse pay twice. i have a 2.2cl with prokits and koni yellows and my car dropped bout 2". since u have the 3.0 ur front end will drop slighty more cuz of the heavier engine. car rides awesome and i can adj the shocks with a turn of a knob. ill post pics tomm of my setup.

Thanks for the info...
So whats the best products at the best price.. I dont wanna pay an arm and a leg..

I planned on getting the Eibachs... Already, I found them for around $200-$220...

What do the shocks run?

How much for the whole setup?

Is springs & shocks all I need?

yeah unless ur bushings are shot or ur rear bolts break in half, but i doubt it cuz ur in cali. u should be good with just that.
figure $200 for pro-kits
and the kyb agx (adj damper) seem to be every1s cheaper alternative (??300 for all 4???)to koni yellows which run 500-550 for all 4. i would highly reccommend either of the 2 cuz having the ability to adj the firmness of the damper can change ur ride to whatever u like, not to mention the performance benefits.

Hey AcuraCL...>

Why did you bolt head break?
Was it because you didnt have the shocks?

Cuz this is exactly what I dont want to happen.. I want it done right, so I dont get shit fuked up..

let me know..By the way.. Looks nice with the drop

Prolly just broke because of the Syracuse and Chicago winters it has been through, that salt will tear up all sorts of shit. It had nothing to do with the shocks. We put in new KYB AGX shocks in too.

I really think there is nothing you can do for a bolt as bad as I had. You gust get out the old breaker bar and pray.

You being a Cali car I believe should be fine. Maybe spray a little PB Blaster on them a day before you begin the install. And also, when you put everything back together, I definitely recommend putting anti-seize dressing on all the bolts when you put everything back together.

Thanks for the comment, keep us posted, and good luck. I really think you wil be fine.

So if the cost wasn't a concern, which do you guys think is better and why, between the Koni Yellows and the KYB's?

I have the KYB's and I think that they are OK. However, my rear's are making some noises and I think they need to be replaced already! I purchased them used, and only had them on the car for about a year with low miles on them (the car is rarely driven).

When I first installed them, they didn't make any noise. At least other than a normal gas strut would make. But now I hear them very loud no matter what.

I have H&R sport springs 1.75f and 1.5 rear. they give an even "looking" drop. Right now I have a little under two fingers on the front and rear. I love the drop

Springs, Shocks, and alignment is recommended after ANY drop. Most of the little hardware is reused off of your stock equipment. Bolts, washers, etc.

By the way, you will only need these things with a PROKIT drop. Anything more will require additional camber kit which could run you up to another 100 bucks a wheel. Good Luck.

REALLY? thanks. it looked alot better b4 i rear ended some1. thats why my hood is white. i bought it from another member. mine is creased and in the back of my garage. i havent washed it in 1 month either cuz i dont care anymore now that im gettin the whole car painted. the lack of sunlight really makes a car look 1000000x better than it really does. i hope u have an idea of a prokit drop, mine is very low for this setup though. again i think the shocks have something to do with that.

Yea I think your ride is pretty clean..
Aside from the hood and side skirts being different color.. I assume you will paint those later..

But the drop looks nice.. I probably wont go as low.. But Thanks for the help!!
