I am contemplating on removing the outter badges, havent decided for sure yet..not a fan of tinted tails but yours do look sick blackack, i searched around a little for all clear tails but im pretty convinced they dont make them for the cl?? if i found a pair id tint them to match the front corners, would look sick!!!

^ you could always try opening up the tail lights and see if it's possible to make it clear them smoked instead of red... i'm just not sure how they color the lenses red so it might not even work. i was thinking bout doing that myself, but just smoking them from the inside, dunno if it would work tho...
you can try it out and let me know how it goes tho

EDIT: i dunno how much red light would actually go through the tail light in that application tho, cuz i think that quite a bit of the red light comes from the lenses being red in the first place

^you won't know untill you try i guess, and since it's winter here and my garage temps are below freezing, i'm not gonna be trying this anytime soon... if you do end up doing it tho, take some pics and make a DIY, so the rest of us can do it too cuz this is something i've been thinking of for a while, just cuz i don't want to tint the outside of my tail lights for a few reasons

will do..i might pick up an extra taillight from the junkyard or ebay and take a stab. and if the light output isnt enough you can always drill another hole in the back of the housing and get another socket and wire in a second bulb

I dont think itll be possible to change the lens color, I'm pretty sure you're stuck with red.

ive never opened one but i am assuming the plastic lens is red throughout, meaning before it was a solid the liquid they used to mold the plastic had red coloring..if this is the case there is no chance of scraping or using a chemical solution to remove the red from the lens. Im still going to pick one up, remove the lens and bring it to a few local plastic shops and see if they can create a replica out of clear acrylic..obviously they wouldnt have the materials to duplicate the texture of the inside of the stock lens so it would probably end up being just an all clear smooth acrylic lens, in that case id shoot for painting the inside of the housing gunmetal..ill let you guys know how it turns out!

you should shoot for making LED brake lights, like the newer cars do

I'm not trying to be a dick, but I am going to be one accidentally. In my opinion, you're going in the wrong direction. You can't go by what everyone says, and you're not, so I'll give you props for that. Personally, however, clear tailights, fake cf, those Motegi's (or whatever brand they are, Motegi makes an identical wheel so I'll just say them), and no name brand performance parts are the definition of rice. Rice has become very distorted over the last 10 years, and doesn't just mean lime green neons with altezzas. If you like the style you're getting into, then go ahead. Personally I fix up a car to improve performance and ridability (sp?)...such as full coilovers like KSports of Teins, a decent header from DC or Greddy or similar, lightweight wheels, etc. If you want to continue modifying the car simply for your version of good looks, then go right ahead, once again props for doing what you want. But for me to say "That's mad tight yo!", I have to see quality parts that have a greater purpose than looks.

Wow that was uncalled-for-long. Sorry for coming off mean, because you are doing something that's great-working on cars. Not trying to discourage you at all, just trying to save you time and money by doing modifications once, not having to go through multiple sets of coils, wheels, exhausts, etc.

I understand where youre coming from, and you pretty much hit it on the nose..overall i myself appreciate aesthetics more than performance which is why i did put fake cf mirrors on..point is, i wouldnt have NOT put them on because they arent real carbon fiber, and i sure as hell didnt put them on to "reduce weight", i put them on because i like the way they look! as for the wheels, these are the wheels i wanted on my first car when i was 17 yrs old, i just like the way they look, hell i couldnt tell you if they weighed more or less than the stock wheels. I want a carbon fiber hood for the look, obviously it will reduce weight but when i think "cf hood" i think damn that will look sweet on my black car, instead of "damn i will shave x amount of pounds". Everyone has their own reason for modding cars, some are focused on running low numbers at the track and they will trade aesthetics for performance, others want a car to look nice and will trade performance for aesthetics..not saying im not into speed, but im more into the look. The performance mods i am doing are minimal and money saving, but i still appreciate what i get out of them (if not 10 hp, maybe 10db lol). If its rice, its rice..give me some chopsticks fuck it!

I like everything but the mirrors. However I really want mirrors with built in turn signals like that. Yours just look to high up, and I'd color match them.

I actually like the wheels and the clear/smoked tails are original at least.

I'm doing a little 'cosmetic' mod with my tails right now, one of them has been done for a couple days now but I needed to find time to fix the other one.. pictures eventually..

^^^ You should tint the white reverse part of the taillights. That's what I did a while ago and it turned out quite nice IMO. I just never posted pics for fear of flame. Or you could do LED breaklights.

It's almost like you looked at my pictures in the, Look at the Let's See Where You're At thread and sparked the idea. But yeah if you look in there I posted two pics of the back end of my car, you should be able to see them.

chopsticks That was great

As for the hood, I dunno what you're talking about, everyone knows I only got mine for weight reduction, not cuz it was a subtle accent on a black car I'm with you man, some of the things I have done have been called rice, but once they're seen in a larger theme people are like zomg wtf. Everyone's tastes are different, I like the start that you're off to. I too have been focused more on aesthetics than performance because CL's look too damn sexy modded as opposed to stock, plus we all know that the motors aren't the best platforms, mod the car for you, not someone else, and if you wanna see what a CF hood looks like on black lemme know i have lots of pics
