Lost traction today... almost crashed...
It's rainning cats and dogs today.
I'm on my way home from school and stopped at an intersection waiting for the light to turn green.
I was a bit tired so i rested my head back and didn't notice the green light. As i quickly accelerate, my front wheels spun and hopped like a rabbit. The car didn't move a bit and the tach went up to 4K rpm... then all of a suddent the car caught traction and shot ahead like a bullet, almost took out the minivan in front .
Luckily the van driver dodged to the left and let my car go straight, avoided the accident.
All this happened in less than 15 seconds and i had to use both hands and feet to keep the car straight because it kept pulling left & right...
I need to get a new set of tires and put on the front sway to help with traction and wheel hop...
Rain sucks...
come to think of it, i have had so many close-calls in the past 6 months... not counting the rear-ending and hit-n-run...

My wheels never hop anymore now that I have new tires... They just spin forever and I move absolutely no where when it's wet. I never catch traction. Guess that's a good thing for situations like this.

And to think, I drove on Azenis in the rain for fun. It's all about throttle control. Once you learn that, you shouldnt have a problem with any tire in any situation.
I take that back, depending on the situation would determine what to do and then throttle control woulldnt be the only thing to take in affect. ex: turns
But for striaght lines, yes, just a bit easier on the throttle and you'll be fine.

try Goodyear Hydragrip....Best tires ever for wet/snow....I have them on right now, the only thing is that at first, cause they're new, they are a bit noisy when you roll down your windows and listen for them, but I drive like a champ in the rain, I love them....the most traction I ever got on tires

Maybe they're worse than the worst East Coast rain drivers, aka North Carolinians.
Most of em slow down to 35 in a 55 if they see dark clouds

Good tires never hydroplane at all.. not even my Potenza RE950's when they were almost bald.. but we are enthusiasts and most of the people in the driving world aren't

You should care who I am because I am not irresponsible enough to ever do 80 mph on a crowded freeway
And read the reviews on the Tire Rack sometime.. some tires hydroplane more than others
