So i went to try to remove my stock head unit but i ran into a problem that i know i should know. How do you get the screw out of the drivers side by the steering wheel?

Is this on the headunit itself or the console? If it's the console, you have to remove the cowling from under the steering wheel, and then you should see the screws

You don't need to remove the steering wheel, just the plastic piece underneath

If you have a 98-99 (dash will be different for 97). You'll have to remove the armrest. remove the cupholder to remove screws. Open armrest and remove screws. The whole section should come up. Then there's two screws that holds the center wood piece. Once that is removed. Pull out ash tray and remove screw behind there. You should be able to pop off that trim. Of course unplug everything on it. After that, you should be able to see the screw holding the radio.

HOpe that helps. if not do a search...
