the remodeled 2004 toyota solara looks damn close to a 1st gen CL... especially the rear... looks sweet! could be my next car in a few years... has a 3.3 DOHC V6 and 5 speed auto.... i think i'd take it over the new accord coupe V6 what do you guys think?!?!?

damn, the Solara has looked very similar to the first gen for a long time, dont believe me? my old girlfriend was convinced i owned a Solara till i set her straight. not that this reason is enough to convince you, but these cars have been similar looking for a while. In any event, I would take a 3.5 over a 1st gen any day.

apparently no one has noticed that toyota loves to copy hondas shit. Example one. Camrys have always closely resembled the accord's style since day one. 1986 Honda come out with Acura, their luxury line. Next year, toyota unveils its new luxry line, Lexus. Then.. 1997 (or was it 98' ?), honda decides to make its accord coupe look very different from the sedan. As a result, toyota decides to make a different looking coupe from the camry sedan, and its called the solara. Don't get me wrong, I like toyota a great deal, i just think its funny how they follow honda so closely.

my cousin drives a solara the same color as my CL. For the first three or four months she owned it, people would come up to me and ask me why my car was always parked at her job. Then I had to set them straight. Stupid Toyotas....

Perhaps it does look like a 1st Gen CL...to the non-enthusiasts. I can definitely see the similarities. Personally, I'd go with a Nissan Maxima. The Solara is very nice for a base-brand, compared to the very bland styling and medioacre performance of the Accord Coupe EX. But you can't really compare the 04 Solara to any 04 Acura....base-brand vs. top-end brand. But then you take an Accord and Avalon, and compare them to the Maxima. Nissan has surpassed Toyota and definitely Honda in styling/design and performance. Honda needs to take that 3.5 and start putting it in the other sedans and coupes and develope a new 4L V8 like Nissan did.

Look at the comperable models: Maxima, Accord, Avalon...which one is PHAT? Maxima. I didn't use to like Nissan but they've done their homework. When you start taking a base-brand(Toyota) Solara and comparing to a high-end brand(Acura)CL...you know something's wrong.

I park next to my boss solara sometime and her's is white also....one day i was walking with her to our car and she walked to my car...but that was before i lowered my car now u can tell the differents.
