I'm looking to get my windows tinted. 35% all around. Anyone have pics of their car with 35% tint so I know what it'll look like. Shop quoted me $189 - is this a decent price?

 

$189 is kinda expensive.... got mine done for $120

 

189 isn't bad if they do work. I've seen cars w/ 5 windows go from 140-260. As long as they do a good job, it's not bad

 

whether thats a good price depends on the film and the warranty

 

check around...there are two kinds of tint...the old stuff and then theres some kind of new tint that lasts a lot longer. sorry I can't be more helpful but if you call a couple places you should be able to find out...I got quotes for my girlfriends jetta last week, $150 for the old stuff, $180 for the new technology stuff.

def go 35...im pissed i didnt.... i went 50...can see right thru it during the day but at night its all good.

 

whyd you get 50? i have mine on 35. its good. and over here, its the darkest legal tint

 

20%, thats all I have to say about that. (except....that way its a little darker and usually cops wont fuck with you, unless they are total dicks)

 

i live in md where the limit is 35 and i have 20, but i got pulled over on wednesday and the cop didnt say anything about it.

 

yea, its 35% to be legal...anything darker is illegal in kansas...

i got 20% and sometimes with i had gotten 12% but then i'd know id be introuble...

My 20% with front windshield brow was $140 total...DEFINITLY GET THE BROW...it looks tooo wierd without it...

if i were u, i'd go 20%..it looks soo much better and ive been pulled over plenty, no one knowticed...

 

I just had to get my tint redone a few days ago. I got busted with 4% tint on there, so I had to pay a really small fine and strip it. The legal limit in Hawaii is 35% but with 6% lee way. So I got 30%. It's nice but I still like the 5% better. 35% IS NOT THAT DARK AT ALL! Oh yeah, I got mine done for $120 using solar guard.

 

i just got my 4th tint ticket last month, here in Ca.
I had 5% and it'll be right back on after my court on the 5th. I have a cop buddy that signs it off, but this time i chose to redue it because my friend scratched the side with his key on accident, and the idiot's used 2 pieces of tint on the back cause they ran out, so there was some line in the middle that light would shine through. They ended up stripping it all and gave me a free retint pass for $40 since the back was their fault. I'm gonna get the front tinted on the top and bottom too this time!

Oh and $189 isn't bad, I paid around $160 with a lifetime warrantee.

i got 0% on my rear section and 35% on the driver and passenger side, and i did the windshield but he didnt charge me for it, oh well their bad

0%? Geez, what did you do? Cover it with tar?

 

make sure that when you get it tinted, they do a good job on the windows where the dot-matrix is. i paid about 170 minus 20 in discouts just about a week or two ago. i still gotta go in so that they can fix the spots where the dots are.
