There is no way you are 45 minutes from Hartford. I just moved 20 minutes from Hartford and it's at least 1 1/2 hours to upper Westchester.

Not entirely true. It may be true for the First Gen section, but there are a ton of people from NY/NJ/CT/PENN in Car Talk.... so much so that the biggest meets on the board are usually east coast meets (ex. the Park Ave Meets, Englishtown Meets, etc.).

I did both...grew up there, moved away, then moved back (not back with parents, just back to CT)...

now I am in AZ...moving back to CT again in a few years.

I take the Hutch to the Merrit to 91 every weekend. I go from Pelham to Hartford, then east to Columbia. Most of the time I average 80 - 85 mph and it still takes longer than that. An hour and 20 min. I can agree with, but not 45 min. I can't beleive that you made it from LI in that short a time unless it was 2 am Sunday morning at 100+. Then it's possible!

Parents. Job.

Its an OK place to live if you're rich.
But its certainly not a place I would recommend that people move to from someplace else.
