Leathers Anyone?

I am currently working out a group buy with a company for first gen leather seat packages. this company offers two two kits with free Embroidery. you can also get Perforation (little holes in leather) with the kit. I am trying to get the price around $450-$500 for the whole kit including tools to put it on. This leather is just like factory and if you are not familiar with how it is put on, it is just the leather and hooks to put it over the padding on our seats. It is fairly easy to do but even easier to pay someone to do.

If your a cl junkie like me and care about your interior as well, this kit is HARDCORE PHAT! Two tones whatever you want.

Only you guys that are serious about doing the group buy reply. It will be easier for me to get the price down with more people of interest.

So please be serious and be ready for TWO TONES!!!!!!!

I already have leather, but it's getting worn.

You mentioned 2-tone; what are the color choices?

I beleive it is the doors as well. that i mentioned to them in the email. But from what i know it is everything.

I also have leather but i am not satisfied with ten. I just ripped most my interior out to start with dying it black and red.

They have most the glorious colors : black , red, orange, tan, grey, etc etc. If you really want to see the colors just email me and i will send you a word doc. with the colors.

I would like to tell you guys i just emailed them so the group buy is not a definite yet. I just don;t want you fellas gettin pissed off at me if they don't meet my requirments. I am trying because i need a deal as well. LOL=)

Anymore questions let me know.

just a question. are these seats covers? or is it the whole seats themselves and the door panels. coz. there's a big difference. i've seen 2 tone seat covers, and it's pretty ricey.

IT IS THE WHOLE KIT!!!!YES! even the arm rest!

I have more information for us. The site is www.leatherseats.com and i want you all to check it out.they have all the colors etc. on their. The last post about is it covers or inserts? you will be able to find everything out on the site.

The email he sent shows that he does quite a few group buys so he does have set prices. For 20 people the price is $543.20 so lets try to get as many people as we can. It will help us all out. If we can't get too many people. I am pretty sure i can work him some more with my skills. Anyway we look at it we will have quite a few people interested and i am sure the guy won't want to loose business, right? here is the email he sent me:

Dear Thanos,

We work with quite a few forums for group buys with enthusiests. Anyway we are delighted to see that you are interested in our products and services and we would love to have the chance to impress all of the members with our quality products. The group buy that you will be coordinating will be good for any Acura CL that we have a pattern for. You will need to collect a list of interested members and once you reach the threshold you deem satisfactory then you will contact me with the list. You will then have everyone on that list call in with their final order and payment information. Each member will be charged separately and the product will be shipped according to each members preference. The group buy structure is as follows...

Buyers: Discount: Price:
1...........................0%.............$679.00
3...........................5%.............$645.05
5.........................10%.............$611.10
10.......................15%.............$577.15
20.......................20%.............$543.20

We will be offering the following options at the indicated prices.

Two-tone................................FREE
2 embroideries.....................FREE
Installation Kit.......................$35.00
Color Double Stitching........$20.00
Colored Piping.....................$60.00
Flat Perforated inserts.........$35.00
Flat Non-perf inserts............$35.00
Ground Shipping..................$25.00
Overnight Shipping..............$55.00

These covers are OEM spec and are made to install in place of your factory cloth or leather seat covers. Once installed they will look just like the factory leather seat covers. The CL is a very straight forward installation and the averaged do-it-yourselfer should have no problems with the task. Our installation kit includes the hog-ring pliers, hog-rings, and the super-adhesive upholstery glue that you will need for the door inserts for $35.00.

Is this a do it yourself thing? Meaning, they send you the kit and you apply it to the seats?

From what the guy was saying is the accord and the cl are fairly easy to do yourself and i took my back seats out 2 days ago and i can see that there is really nothing to it. Just a clip here, a clip there. Ya know?

Lets see how many peeps we can get and then i'll hit him up on a lower price. Talk to you guys soon.

DrewDiddy be calm my man. lol=) Its OK.

You can do it yourself or get someone to do it. It shouldn't be that hard bro. Ask around and see how much it would be to get it put in by someone.

Gimme a month but if you need the dough now I'm down as well.
I dont know if this may pose a problem but I live in Toronto, Canada, so as far as the shipping thing....
Otherwise, two tone black and gray, with acura on the headrests is in my immidiate future.
P.S. I'll still love you more than my girl if your hook up runs

i heard that the TL board all did a group buy and they were very happy with the leather. post some pics and lets see.

the group buy is still in effect if everyone wants to do it. i stopped posting because i wasn't really getting any replies. the prices are in a earlier post and if you guys still wanna do it. lets do it!

20 people is the ideal great buy. every 10 the price goes down. check out early posts

its easy enough to do yourself.

for a little extra $ they will send you a full kit and instruction list on how to do it yourself.

or the dealership will definetly do it. haven't you seen a civic with factory leather? that isn't how they come from the factory, honda does all that stuff for ya.

or and upolstery shop etc etc

If you go to katzkin.com you can put in your zip code and they'll find you an authorized dealer around your area that will sell you or install leather seats, like these, for you. I think it costs anywhere from $300-$500. I'd rather do it myself, I could use that chunk of change for somethint else.

I bought a kit like this for my Fiat Spider......it's easy to do once you get the hang of the hog ring pliers. There's really nothing to it. Just need a nice sunny day to warm-up the upholstery so it stretches nicely.

Stretch it over your padding, ring it to the seat frame (you'll see where to ring it when you take the original upholstery off).

You're done! If I could do it & make it look good - ANYBODY can.

If the buy is still going on, i'd like to get in on it. 2-tone black/red would look tight!
