this is my first car with leather seats...

anyways, back seats are mint...its the front seats that are just getting thrashed...a wrinkle turned into a small crack...i'm thinking its way too late to get it conditioned so does anyone know how to patch up leather cracks?

other thing is i have holes in the outside corner of both front seats...seems like that corner just gets it...it was like that already when i bought the car...anyone else with leather woes?

i'm about this close to getting them rewrapped with better leather if it gets any worse...anyone know how much that would cost around? acura wants $1500 CDN to reskin the whole car, front and back...

 

well i'd never pay the dealer to reskin my car, but i just went to the shop last week to have them take a look and they told me $1240 US to replace the bad panels and redye the seats to match, and put in a suede headliner. to reskin the seats would begin at about 1800. it would've been about $750 or so just to replace the bad panels.

 

I think that it is a poor design from acura = the seats are trashed from the useing the seatbelt, look at how when you are wearing your seatbelt the lower belt comes across the seat..... ohh well mine is probly the worst on the fourm..... even in the center of the seat the stiching has come undone..


but the back seats are mint!!

 

my friend put all leather in a car that had cloth (98 honda accord 4 DR. doors, everthing) not just your average leather.. multi color pertherated < cant spell that. it was sweet looking it only costed him like 900.. redoing just your front seats shouldnt cost that much at all..

 

what kind of shop did he have it done at ??
was it in MN??

Katzkin leather seat covers start at around 600, for 100 extra they'll give you the install kit with instructional install video. So for around 700 you can have brand new leather in a color of your choice. It also feels higher quality imo.

 

My front seats are more fucked up than a football bat. I was gonna get them re-done, but said fuck it. I can still get both front and back, plus panels, done for 900. Carpet for 150. That includes doing the center part on the seats blue to match. But my back seat and panels are perfect, the front 2 look like an abused hooker.

automatic oh no.. sweet ass car my buddy with that accord also cut off his super long shifter and slamed on a manaul shift knob but beware that means its same as always hvaing th button pushed in

 

yea its an auto...it has to be, i dont think i could drive it if it was a 5spd, theres too much shit goin on in there.

 

i keep trying to find a new set of front seats cuz that would be cheaper. evey once in a while, i come across a set on ebay, mint condition, but i never have enuf money to get them. my drivers side is wrecked, like everyone elses.
