Does anyone know if our CL's 97-99 have a chip in the key???

I heard this was not so and wanted to get and extra non-honda key made.

right, they dont... get this though, back when I bought my CL my dealer told me that they DO have a chip inside, so getting a new key is an expensive task... well I found an acura key that was close to my key, I just had it cut to match, and sure enough... it works just fine... those lying fucks at Acura...

 

I dropped my keys in the lake so i had the dealer cut me a extra spare and it was only 3.50 so i doubt there is a chip in there

 

nope, i keep an all metal spare from local hardware store. started with it yesterday, definetly no chip

 

Are you guys sure there's no chip? ?? Cause when i got a spare key, my uncle had to use this gear he had to make it work with the car. The spare key only opened the doors but couldn't start the car, unless he programs how many keys there are.

 

pretty sure that 98 and up has chips in them.
